I\'m in love...with Kintall!
Seriously, Kintall that picture is so beautiful. Everything looks awesome. Black and red (also grey) are not bad colors btw :)

EDIT: Just looked some more at the mask and the shape at the top allowing for the horns to come out naturally, is really great. Thanx :D
Also, what do you think about it?

EDIT 2: Sangwa saved my life. No shoes! He should be barefeet :D

Back again, TAFE started up so I havent got any free time till monday... yech,  lol so no colouring, but given the boring nature of my time ahead  there will be scetches coming along still ^^

speaking of which -->

this one is the result of the teacher deciding not to show for over 45 minutes into the class.... fugging joyus, its basicaly the Father Sengus mask again but  with a slightly more rounded face, anywho

rosmerelmer:
yup you can colour him if you like, just dont forget to credit the original artist when you post it or the buzzards of plagerism will pull your nipples off with fishhooks (not as fun as it sounds surprisingly)

zorbels:
I am glad you like it, and whilst some may agree the ball is a little out of wack with the generalised arrgh giargh-ness of the weapon, I think it sets it off perfectly... ^^ nothing like the sight of the worlds happiest morning star coming at you to make your day all the more confusing :P

Father Sengus:
I am very glad you like it and yoru admission of love is nice to hear ^^ (I have had the day from hell/hades/adelaide).. lol it is your alter ego after all, the barefoot can be arranged, but yeah I have no free time for about a week (work+study=sad bucky) so dont expect colouring any time soon, though if you have a good colourist in mind I did manage to ink it at the least so after a short approval lol... that sounds terrible, I\'m sure it would be cool to send her/him away to be coloured by her/him

and p.s I found something cool out on the new laptop I have, if you look at the scetches from a really sharp angle on a flatscreen (well outside normal viewing angle)... well youl just have to try it out^^

Gods of spelling, I stand AGAINST YOU!

:D So true Kintall, a nice Smack good morning sunshine! I like your new piece of work as well. Does it take you long to do these sketches? Oh and I also forgot to mention in my last post that I really like the very first post on this page. That is an awesome suit and just the character itself is eye catching. The only thing that made me go huh .... was the red finger nails.  Look forward to more ....

well heres something to keep peoples amused(mainly myself in rather dull html class), this one was a test to see if I could colour on the dodgy little touchpad on my laptop... lol  wether it worked I\'l leave up to you^^

and on another note..  someone was bad, for those of you yet to be bad, make sure you read the fanart rules, those who do not will be forever thrown into the pit of irate stonefish( ^^ this is reminding me of how I completely lost the plot at seperot, who\'d have thought combining my own insecurity, instablity and ego would make such a firey lunatic of me?^^  stilll a tad embarresed about that one, lol ah well)

as per usual any ideas comments suggestions costructive remarks or good solid critiques on individual works or my method in general are welcome as always...

and may be made mandatory (cant beleive theres a couple hundred views already, lol but then the last one got past ten thousand I think)

lol ahh well, oh and it seems I have aquired a colourist so I will be piffing the Father Sengus pic at him and hoping for the best... I have another scetch to show... but the scetch is in my laptop bag which my mate inadvertantly buggered off with in his car... death will soon follow him....  and if tonite turns dull I might have a stab at the colouring myself ... so tired, spent all bloody day at work moving furnature because some people are too cheap to [rant about stupid coworkers/customers deleted due to exessive expletives] and then my laptop runs away...

and I\'m eagerly awaiting something in the unoficcial fanart contest thing that I can actually DO.. lol  possibly some sort of cartoony character design based one next month... hmm possibly not :P

and yeah as usual comments requests or suggestions are always apreciated... lol gods I\'m insecure/impatient/in constant need of validation.... IN-something certainly :P

!!EDIT!!

lol I decided to give it a colour (yes things is dull indeed), and I also decided to try and spend a lot of effort on the light and shadows and am really happy with the result, the shadows bring it a lot more depth than my other works lol... damn I may have to continue doing this now.... noooo effort noooo

This ones Father Sengus^^, colour wise its far from the brightest but the colouring is some of the more thoughtful so far (Sengus mate if you need a larger/smaller/transparentBG one for a particular website or use PM me and I\"l drop him to you)

as always comments and sugestions are always etc etc etc you know the drill :P lol GIMME!

Wow Kintall! The coloring is really awesome. I must say you chose unexpected colors, but the more I look at them, the more I think they are cool. Great job!
Though, it would have been cool to see black instead of purple (even though I know the two colours are really common). :P

I love the coloring style as it looks very...clean? neat...something. Once again, thank you so much!

Hopefully the artists will give you some good feedback cause I\'m no good :D

Sengus, I think the words you\'re looking for for the coloring style are \"awsomely realistic\". The shading gives it shape beyond the 2D format of it in my opinion. Looks great Kintall :)

Very nice Kintall! I like how your shading is so smooth and clean, especially on the coloured Father Sengus picture. Also the fur and eye you did with laptop look very realistic. :)

Ahh thankyou thakyou

Father Sengus:

Once again I am happy I have made a rendition you like, is always nervous posting peoples characters, and yeah after rummaging around on your char the idea of him doing the whole orphanage thing means the colours shouldnt be too \"Oooogy booogy\" plus scary or serious comes very little down to looks or clothing anywho, youl just have to carry that part off yourself ^^

Farren Kutter:

Thanks... that colouring was a real challenge, and it all started when I was rubbing off a bit of misplaced highlight and I noticed how well it looked... spent the next however long fiddling about with it trying to get a relative level of light and shadow across the whole dingie

Cherppow:

Ahh feedback from the colouring man imself^^ twah twah indeed. thankyou, smooth and clean is somethign I really like, some of my favourite artists are soem of the most miimalistic yet through such simple clean lines portray supreme depth and form with flawles composition throughout... ^^ this is what I aim for, but with 3d moddeling aproaching soon-ish (second semester, not first T_T) I am goign to have to broaden my horizons into more texture and rough based form portrayals, lol for this I hope for your and other peoples support throuout this lovely art community

oh and plus in case youre reading this thread ArcaneFalcon, I\'d like to thank you for the unnoficial fanart contest, I wish I had a means to participate :P but even so this community needs warming up, (lol I think they gotten lazy so keep up the poking/whipping^^) and if I had anything to contribute besides encouragement I\"d post this in that thread :P

plus I have drawn a dingie, this was a work done number that was mainly drawn to practice colouring female stomachs, well lighting them anyways

scetch and colored one supplied for all :P

AS per usual, comments, questions, suggestions, critiques, advice, camels and interesting requests (of characters things yours or otherwise :P) are more than welcome

tootles ladies n gents:P

lol the secret is... I don\'t, just look at some of Cherppow\'s, Djagg\'s or Karyuu\'s. if your going to learn from anyone they would be a top ticket (textures scare me) and also theres nothing wrong with two shade colouring it just means you have to be harder/more careful with the threshhold of where you cut the shading off.
and let me assure you Shading, lighting, and colouring are still quite alien to me, whilst I am very pleased with Father Sengus\' lighting I still have a veeeery long ways to go, AND ....^^  just tonite I have figured another facet of Photoshops depths, the \"make line smooth with vector stuff\" as I call it or \"pen\" tool if you must be pedantic :P

normaly as I said in that tablet thread I have trouble with the jittering over long curved lines, and I lose the smoothness and accuracy in my lineart, with this handy dandy tool I managed to get some really smooth curves in the lineart of this pic I did today, and given I have flash MX class tomorrow the more I get vectors into my mindset the better, anyways heres the pic, its not finished yet, I just bucketed the colours in and dropped a red shape in the BG :P

As per usual, comments, questions, suggestions, critiques, advice, cactuars and/or interesting requests (of characters/things yours or otherwise ) are more than welcome on works both new and old.

Peace out \"chall\"

EDIT[/u]

oh..^^ and I\'ve got a question for any photoshoppers out there, that last picture that was done (inked) with a mouse using the pen tool, but my question is how do I make the stroke of the line automaticaly grade from the max to the min of the line thickness, the closest i\'ve found is mking it grade down in thickness over a set distance, or go from thin to fat to thin again over the course of the line if i use the \"simulate pressure\" tickbox (and have the brush properties set to size jitter-pen presure not the fade I used for the set distance size gradation)

lol and I\'m a little ego-deflated that no ones got any requests for me, i remember \"back in the day\" I had more than I could possiby do :P, *sigh* ahh well

Howdy!

Ahem. *erases his name from the list* There you go, the real masters. ;) I\'m just trying to learn like the rest.

That is some clean ink right there Kintall, looks like an useful tool you\'ve found. Skills! *nod nod* Hmm, I don\'t have Photoshop, so can\'t help you with the question. I may be able to give some tips on texturing in 3D when that time comes. If you\'re running low on subjects, you\'re always welcome to draw a pic of Cherppow.

lol beware, I may hold you to that, and your colouring really is good, its really a challenge for me to try and colour things with texture in mind, up until I first appeare on this board I had honestly never really used colour or shading for that matter.

and I also feel like I kinda owe the arty/requesty bunch here for helping me get what little improvement I have over this time. so in all seriousness if theres anything I can do to help just drop me a post here or a PM, I know I\'m somewhat limited in what I can do but you never know lol...

though I did have one idea...^^

that unoficcial fanart contest thingie, well whilst the challenges are outside my normal run of things I decided to give it a go anyways. if I\'m going to say I\'m trying to improve my weak areas (backings etc) then I should probably get to it on them :P

heres my entry: lol be kind...

I hope this one looks swampy enough, I wanted to make the dwellings look like hollowed fungus with little bridges, and after numerous attempts to paint the backing I decided to colour a b/w one instead so as to at least get an idea for what base layers to work from... much further to go /sigh

still looks OK I rekon, as for the likeing shiny things well thats what made me decide not to have any of them out/visible, I wanted to go with paranoid greedy dingie mentality of hoarding and hiding anything shiny :P(that and I do enough shiny rubbish as is anyways^^)
also if I get around to doing the inside/furnature I\'l see if I can protray walls of sortof straw with bits of \"bling\" sewn through them and a non directional lighting produced by all the shiny dingie in the huts

anywho I look forward to seeing what other people come up with(lol if only because it will improve the look of the thread after I dump this ugly mofo onto it^^), Cherppow this is so your shtick^^ you\'d best reveal yours soon bwahahaha etc etc

As per usual, comments, questions, suggestions, critiques, advice, moogles and/or interesting requests (of characters/things yours or otherwise ) are more than welcome on works both new and old.
