Too Much Freezing

I play for awhile,and then it freezes. It automatically freezes when I check the members of a guild. I\'ve been asking around and people have said I need a new virus or spyware program. Mine is Norton,and they were saying it\'s a really bad one. (I would believe that actually) I know it\'s not lag,becuase I tested. It stays like that for as long as I leav my comp on. Can anyone help?

First, it is probably not your antivirus software.
My first guess is sound. Did you disable sound through pssetup?
Second, what are your system specs and OS? There may be something else going on, though again, my first guess is sound. Also make sure you\'re fully up to date.

Sorry I\'ll give more info:
Mac OS X (10.4.4)Last time I updated.
I\'ve updated all software many times using the Java Updater(I know nothing about terminal)
My computer is a Mac OSX G5 or something like that.I know it\'s G5.
I haven\'t done anything with the sound. I\'ll try it,though.
I hope that\'s enough information,as it\'s all I know at the moment.

Mmm... Updating with the Java updater is fine and your specs look alright. Try turning off sound and see if that helps. If not, post a Console log here as indicated in the sticky at the top of this forum (Note: console log, not crash log).

I tried,but nothing hapenned when I got it to crash. It\'s not just PS that freezes,it\'s my entire computer. Before I got that to freeze,though,it had a bunch of paragraphs saying that \"the ruby crystals file wasn\'t found\". Does this mean I have to download that file?

Fix disk permissions, download \"MainMenu\"  (freeware) from versiontracker.com
