need Help.

Hi all,I\'ve a problem with Planeshift, I\'ve installed the game and update it. I\'ve created a character and connected to the server.But I can\'t view nothing.The game freeze,and in a part of the screen appear a strange text:

\"this is some text\"    <-

the world doesn\'t appearbut i can view part of the commands.I can\'t exit and i must restart the server x ....

Anyone have any idea ?

I\'ve Ubuntu GNU/Linux with an  NV 6600gt graphic card, driver NV installed , and my 3D work fine with all games.

Driver NV? I\'d really recommend downloading the latest official drivers from Nvidia. It sounds like a driver issue, at least.

I presume your game client itself is up to date?

*edit* D\'oh, should leave Linux problems to Linux pros :) Thread moved.

Planeshift on Linux will most likely not start, or crash immediately after starting up, or show no texts, or show a corrupted picture, or delete everything on your hard disk, or burn your CPU and/or RAM, and give you a lot of gray hair ;)

Or more seriously, search in the Linux forums. There are several threads describing the same problem and they (hopefully) have a solution for you. To be honest, I never managed to get it working using the installer and built it myself from sources. The symptoms were quite similar -- a corrupted display.
