Regarding IN PLAY roleplay board

I am wondering about the content of this board--are the role-play contained here actually in the game, or are they just here and pretended to be in game?
Such as with the daughter of Laanx--was there an actual note at the temple to be found, or is it pretended to have happened in game?
Or the Hydlaa message board, is there one in Hydlaa with these messages on it--or is it here and pretended to be there?

I understand that \"events\" are actually in game--am I right?

Furthermore, if I were to create something happening in game, is this where I\'d post it--or does it go in the creative writing section?
Also, are there ever contests, so to speak, for creating (filling in) history or happenings in the game?

For discussing and in game events created by the GM team.

The team was very recently restructured, we now just about have our feet firmly back on the groud so get ready for more input from us.

I believe this is purely fictional, official events run by the GMs ((such as Taela\'s Bewitched Bag) and usually posted here with the [EVENT] tag) had real items spawned by us.

To clarify, things with [EVENT] are OOC threads about events run by GMs in-game. Things with [RP] are things that actually happened in-game. This doesn\'t mean you can\'t embellish a bit to make it more interesting. For instance, there may not actually be a note, but you can RP finding it. You can also add slight extensions and minor changes to what really happened in-game. However, the basic facts should have a grounding in something that actually happened in-game. Any in-game-related in-character posts should go on this board with [RP] in front of the thread title. If it has little or no grounding in actual in-game events, put it in the creative writing section.

Well, what if the GM\'s didn\'t plan it, but it did happen in-game? Like the time Crimsonn was chased through Hydlaa by a Fanatic?

Eventually, it should get to the point where you might know whether it\'s a GM event or not (depending on the level of NPC interaction). Read the sticky about posting here for guidelines on how to write your posts. The general idea is that you need to be writing in-character, but there shouldn\'t be active interaction. So most posts here are reflections (i.e. your character telling a story in a tavern, or thinking about an event in his/her inn room), letters, diaries, books, etc.

Yet this is what I see going on the most. It\'s like... these events are supposed to have happened in-game, and you\'re just writing -about- them to reflect or share the experience. It\'s a little weird.

Wouldn\'t a forum specific for in-character discussion be fun and useful?

Generally, the forum itself is OOC - your characters live and interact in the game, and what happens between characters outside of it isn\'t always considered \"real.\"
