The Tag TEam Champions
« on: February 08, 2006, 12:30:54 pm »
The Tag Team tournament drew many warriors and visitors. The fights where very exciting and overall it was a pleasure to whitness.

In 3rd place, Team Hverrjanor, With Einnol and Kolesa. They put up a great fight and managed to get verry far. In the finals, the competition was a litle bit to though, but yet, they wouldn\'t go down easily and managed to give the other two teams a great scare. The won a  great awar consisting out of a Gold ring, 15000 trias and a weapn collection.

In 2nd place, we got a team that is close to my heart. The Led Wings. This team was formed only two houers before the tournament started, buth the amazing power of Eolius and Satayne, not to mention their great teamwork, did the trick. Only one team could beat them. The proud runner-ups go home with an award of; A gilded hilt, 30000 trias, 2 handglyphs and a dark broadsword/

And now..... the team that came in first..... putting up a magnificent tournament.... The Purrrfect two!!!. This team got together 5 minutes before the tournament, and managed to give everybody a great scare. Maelgwyn and Xilix are the two beautifull Fenki that created this team. We all know Maelgwyn can fight, she has proven that on previous tournaments. But all of a sudden... out of nowhere... pops up this young Fenki called Xillix, giving the well experienced warriors quite a shock by demonsrtating her skillfull ways of fighting. The proud winners go home with a great award ; A ring of summon Fammiliar. 60000 trias, 2 handglyphes and an Iron Dagger.

This tournament, over-all, was a succes, And i would once again like to thank, Gag, Ogu, Javeroal, Illori, Gebo. Evaraj and Zabrey for all their hard work they put in the tournaments every time...

Also, and this is even more important to me, i thank the people that appreciate the work i do... It is not easy and it takes a lot of time, work and money to realise these events. All help is welcome, from you, the players, and the GM\'s.

Hoping to entertain you all more in the future,

What a great tournament!  It was a grand event as always.  A big congratulations to the charming (yet deadly) Maelgwyn and Xillix.  :)  That was an impressive display of fighting skills.    Satayne and Eolius, your dueling was superb.  Congratulations to you as well.  I am honored to even be mentioned alongside such great warriors.

A big \'Thank you.\' to Proglin Entertainment and all who helped organize and run the tournament.  All the work and time that you put into it purely for the enjoyment of everyone is deeply appreciated.

Finally, to the fans and supporters:  \"Thank you all.\"  What would a tournament be without the roar of the crowd cheering on their favorite competitors?  I hope the tournaments continue to be a success and grow in popularity.  Perhaps one day, every seat in the arena will be sold out and the stands will literally be packed with fans.  I am sure that will be something to behold.  :)

I also was there (but for awhile) and it was a tumultous event, with all the shouting, and the battle noise in the background--oh and we can\'t neglect the importance of \"BEER, RED LIQUOR...\".
Overall, an interesting thing indeed.

Even Vodul had a blast (with a dark spell that made all the players dissappear) and got praised for it by some of the crowd.

For screenshots the crowd would need zoom cameras--perhaps they can be added to the wishlist.

You are all a very curious lot. I hope I will have a developed enough character and enough knowledge to participate in the actual event for the future.

Thanks

some thoughts to make the tournament better
« Reply #5 on: February 09, 2006, 11:48:22 am »
Good day to you Tag Tournamnet organizers and fighters alike!

Some thoughts from a rookie contestant that became very soon a spectator..:)

First of all, congrats Proglin, not for organizing it, but for being able to pull it through after the conflict and the disqualification!

To be honest, although I was an attentive witness, I was not sure if the Dark Team broke the rules or not, because for me the rules were not very clear (my mistake here:)) )

I belive your decision was to be trusted as you and the referees know the rules best, but maybe you can make the rules more explicit to everyone involved, so we will know instantly if someone broke them or not!

My appologise if I say too obvious things, maybe other fighters or spectators have better ideas.

I hope there will be more and more different types of tournaments, nicer and longer, organized by you or others that are be inspired by you!

May the crystal light your way!

Mynosare, You\'re right... The main problem in this tournament was the pplayers, not understanding the rules perfectly well. This was  my mistake and i should be more carefull. I thought the Rules xplanation, And a demonstration would solve that problem, but it didn\'t.

This tournament was complex, and hard for the players to keep track of. I apolagise to all for this litlle mishab. All future tournaments will be simplyfied, to prevent something like this ever happening again.

Keep in mind that PS is ony a tech Deomo, as are my tournaments. I organise them all for the first time, and there are many things that need improvement. But.... I no longer plan on being grumpy over this last tournaments, it is better for me to think of ways to improve it instead, cause i still think the idea was lovely.

And for all the players that honestly think i\'m doing an awful job... please contact me in-game, and take my job for a week.

I was just wording what time zone the trement use\'s.

For I think it may be a defferent time zone then where I live.  Right now it is 8:48 where I live.

You said 22:00 Hours, but what time would that be in MI since it is estren time.
Why should I speak, if no one speaks?  Why should I approach, if no one approaches?  Why should I hear, if no one hears?

The times are always told in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) = GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). If you need to calculate your local time:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timezone

So for example, if you live in Michigan (is that MI?), and your timezone is UTC-5 = EST, calculate:

22:00 GMT - 5 h = 17:00 EST

Hei! I am glad you see the positive side of things! Of course its a begining! and Proglin [both IC and OOC], you can improve your organizing skills everytime you do a tournament! [maybe the devs can add an organizing skill in game :)..just a silly thought].

I\'m sure lots of people thought this was a lovely idea, thats why they were there, figthing or watching...So keep up the good work! I think tournaments should not necessarily be simplified, but just made more clear..Maybe there can be one with 4 warriors in the ring at the same time (or even more)

I wonder how the players could follow the rules when they were changing fight after fight. On my first, I have been sniped by the two opponents in the same time and the referees declined to interfer. On the second one we were eliminated while I was 20 meters behind the line without attacking. Even our opponents didn\'t understand your decision.

I was so ashamed by the accusation without being able to defend, that I had not other choise except suicide. If you justify that decision by what the referees told you, you should ask them how many they have been paid to commit this infamy.

[Setill Karunor]

I agree that the rules are hard to apply, I think i caught it but during a fight, we can\'t pay any attention to the imaginary line, the oppenants are to ecxited or concentrate.
The crowd witnessed it ! We didn\'t cheat !
Honour and loyalty are the main rules of the Dark Empire, so cheating is an avoided word in our vocabulary. I can guess a coalition against us ... and I accuse the referees to be corrupted !
Shame on you !

[ooc: I just try to start a rp developement, Proglin is doing good job and the referees aswell, and we hope more entertaining like this. Sometimes the crowd can riot as irl. It can be fun and add more realisme in the atmosphere of a tourney, enjoy it! ;) ]

The evil is like an iceberg.
The Dark Empire is the little floating part you can see, but below this, there is a huge part...
