Fighting issues
« on: February 11, 2006, 12:00:41 am »
I have been having issues lately where when I try to kill rats or clackers, I end up getting killed. Now, not too long ago, all I had was an Ax, and I had no problem killing rats and clackers. Now I have a Steel Falchion and a Wooden/Metal shield, but it seems like the shield is not helping at all, and the Steel Falchion is worse at doing damage than the ax I had. Any suggestions? Do i need to train first on these items or what?

Dave.

Shields still, as far as I know, do nothing, except making your character look prettier and easier to kill (Losing an extra attack).

Futhermore, the damage you do is strictly related to yor skill in the weapon. It seems that your \'axe\' skill is higher than your \'sword\' skill.

Of course, if you train, it\'s a non-issue, excepting it takes a lot of money & PP.

I seem to remember a recent notification that shields have been activated along with armor.

However, I also remember in the player\'s manual that a skill stat of 0 means you don\'t have any ability to use that item, weapon, shield, or armor--therefore, it would cause an encumbrance of weight and agility.

The first time, i picked up a sword i couldn\'t even get it to swing, and everything killed my before I could even swing at it.

Ah, shields have been activated? That\'s a new thing. I thought they had modified what was on the server, but the shields weren\'t working just yet. Or at least, properly.

Armour definately is, however.
