List of glyphs currently available
« on: February 21, 2006, 06:08:35 pm »
I\'ve tryed in \"almost\" all places trying to find a list of what glyphs are currently available for us, and their descriptions of what each spell do...
I know the game is still in early stage, but i will be glad if someone could tell me where i can find a list of the spells in PS

You simply won\'t find such a thing ;) There are no lists of anything, because you are supposed to find such information in-game. Next time you can log in, ask a few people (or perhaps even visit Levrus\' magic shop yourself). Posting lists of such sort is usually approaching the \"spoiler\" line.

Such a list would be an OOC spoiler and it would take away from the game.

That said, there are very complete lists of pretty much everything in game.  Loot, weapons, bestiaries, spawn points, maps, trainers, quests and their solutions, and so on.  The character generator has even been deconstructed, so you get point values for all the options and variables.  I made such a chart for personal use, but there are guilds that release such lists to all guild members.

It\'s interesting... these guilds claim to be RPers, but they pride themselves on releasing this information to their guild members....

Hm.. well, not all such lists are OOC spoilers within guilds - it would be much nicer to be able to keep such notes in an actual notebook in-game and the like, but without such a feature at the moment this is the next best thing. It really depends on the guild and the way the information is presented - there\'s no shame in making a list of all glyphs, spells, and their properties, if a guild is one of magic wielders - as this would very much be something in their personal library.

Though generally, there\'s nothing incompatible about being a roleplayer and knowing some hidden bits of the game ;)

The information, as I\'ve seen it presented, is almost always presented in terms of numbers or stats or whatever.  They\'re basically supplying their recruits with the quickest way to power level their character.  It\'s not RP in presentation or intent.

How is a guild member supplying his recruits with a quicker way to power level their character not RP? Is this implying that these character\'s with obvious human characteristics and superiority in their environment lack the intelligence to write this information down and share it with the members who serve his/her purpose. If this knowledge is obtained through the actual playing of the game and personal experience; why not share with those you trust? Does a priest not share his bible? Does a Warlord not preach to his minions of treasures that a certain wizard may hold? The noting of this information is simply another part of playing the role.

Aten and Amen to that.
A xacha is a keeper of knowledge and intellect (so is that green looking dandy called something I can\'t remember atm) since there is no way to keep such knowledge in game--out of game is the only way to do it, and guild is apparently the only official social orgs in game which would do it.

Guilds in the real world are all about power, control, or social improvement--and they keep books.

I suppose it could be presented in a spoiler style--but not rp? (I guess I don\'t know much about what rp is if that is so.)  It is not adventure or mystery minded, that is for sure--but not rp?
