New Client
« on: February 21, 2006, 09:44:32 pm »
i was just wonderin if the mac client will be up when the windows is. I understand that all devs work hard and have other jobs so i dont intend for this thread to become a huge arguement thread, but instead just a simple question wanting a simple answer.

Normally no up to two weeks behind , but , i have played on PC in this short time and the Mac version is well worth the extra wait.

 Less crashes less problems.

BIG thums up for the Mac MAN :D

Sadly, Mac support is less than stellar at times.  You might have to wait a bit, but we\'ll try to get it out as fast as possible.

I was also wondering about this. I don\'t have any problem with waiting, though I will definitely be looking forward to the day I can rejoin PS.

I can currently compile the client and dfryer is around. So unless things change drastically in the next few days, the Mac client should come right on the heels of the PC client. :)

Awesome man, thanks :D

And Blackcomas, keep checking this link

It says there what version the client is on, and if it\'s running or not, it was last updated in november, but when version 0.3.0.13 of the client is released and running for mac, it\'ll be updated and you\'ll know you\'re ready to play.

ok good to know

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i noticed this in the cvs log
2006-02-22 by Dave Garrett
- Bumpped version to 0.3.013
- Fixed a crash in SpeedOp on a bad psDBMovement.
version bumped to 0.3.013, so does that mean the new client is out

No, that means that all builds from then on are version part of version 0.3.013 (until we go to version 0.3.013 or 0.4.001 that is). You\'ll know when the client is released... just watch the Planeshift homepage... ;)

Currently the problems with the Mac client are

a) no sound
b) the mouse \"sticks\", which I can only reproduce sometimes
c) no one-button mouse support for some operations

I can put together a release as is, or continue investigating these problems, but my pace of investigation is pretty slow right now.

Does that b) mean that the mouse stops moving or something else?
