The item-generator could need some tweaking
« on: February 23, 2006, 12:04:54 pm »
Hello!
I\'ve searched the forums but didn\'t find something matching.
If this bug (?) is know or I missed a thread about it feel free to slap me :)

Okay then:
The item-generator generates weapons that noone can equip.
For example the \"*of Peace\" blades require more INT then can be reached at all.

It\'s very annoying me, because I earn my money as trader and many customers get angry when the realize that the blades they bought are useless :)

The wonderful joys of playing a game inprogress :) I find it rather annoying as well, though I have several weapons that I can\'t equip... well can\'t equip without potions at least ;) Maybe in this update there will be a few extra trainers, hopefully :D

Yes, I agree the unusable weapon thing is kind of annoying, sorry about that Peeg, I never tried to equip it.

My only issue with the item generator is the availability of certain weapon types.  As far as I know there are 3 or 4 NPC\'s in all of Yliakum that have a chance of rewarding players with any Axes more powerful than a woodcutting axe, whereas if a  person wanted to loot say, a short sword, a broadsword of Skull Bashedness (slash 1.5), or a Super Nifty Lightning-fast Longsword of Doom (slash 3) they can fight almost any mob that looks humanoid.  I believe the same problem exists for daggers.

Is this a bug, or were the different loot types that NPC\'s drop chosen according to expected usage (i.e. Lots of people like swords, not as many axes and daggers)?  Maybe this can go on the list of \"things to look at and see if we want to change it\".  Of course, if it aint broke, don\'t fix it.

I must say it does get interesting hunting for the extremely rare axe that might enable you to survive an Ulbernaut onslaught.  The hard part is getting to it before the salesmen do.  I don\'t have half a million tria to spend on an axe so I gotta do my treasure hunting by myself or with some of the friends I have made (RP opportunity maybe?).

Thanks for listening. Sorry if my train of thought seemed to get derailed every other sentence.  It\'s been a long morning and I have only been up half an hour.
