This came up as it was trying to load my character Sichego. I downloaded the new client, and I have gone into the game with my other character. Any suggestions?

Sure, just read this:
http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=22224&boardid=33&styleid=3

It normally does the trick, searching before posting ;)
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

This very same error happened to me too (two years later). And the link above doesn't seem to work.

I just loaded the game, and picked my character. But while trying to load the surroundings, the game says:
"The sector you have entered couldn't be loaded.
Please check your logs for details."

My character is located in a guildhouse.
I've been there about an hour ago. (just before a serverstop/-crash)

I am having the same problem with my Lifygen Dwarf.  The refereneced link goes to a website with "NO HELPFUL INFORMATION" ; it looks like and advertisement page.

looks like the domain lapsed on that link, not too surprising. Anyway why you dredging up 2 year old threads? Whatever advice it may have had is probably no good anymore anyway. There is a problem with dwarfs at the moment and there is another problem with portals. They are known bugs. Try playing a different race character or try reloading your dwarf several times. You will likely find him unplayable if you do get him in.

thanks, Reloading tries worked.  Dwarf was much better playable today than b4 I had to reload. :))  Still has problems but workable.  GM query indicates that maiybe my Dwarf was just "Lucky" today.

In response to whey I am trying to use "two year old advice... it is probably out of date advice.."  If it is out of date advice then why don't you delete the thread?  GM/Devs ask us to query for problems b4 we submit a BUG or solicit help.  At least Two of us have done this and now you criticize us for it; how does that make sense?

Please Delete known out-dated advice/solutions.

Because people here don't like it when you post new threads while there's allready an existing thread about a subject.

Thanks for the info though. I'll try another character first.

planeshift3d.com was the old old forums before we moved to the new host and the planeshift3d name was dropped.

as to bringing up old threads, threads after one year without any postings to them should auto lock, so that users can't just reply to them.

it would have been perfectly acceptable for you to make a new thread in this case, but no harm done digging it up.

I did not mean to sound too harsh. In the support section threads are likely to get out of date particularly fast. In the general sections a two year old thread might be more relevant but here a similar problem likely has a completely different cause because the related code has changed. Anyway, I believe the standard rule of thumb for all forums here is that after six months you can just make a new thread.

What I find helpful sometimes is to browse the tasklists here to see if the trouble I am having has been reported. There is a search function as well but I like to stick my two cents in for some bugs or feature requests where I haven't had a problem. Not everywhere, just where I think I have something to contribute.
