Help with running this game please!!!

I downloaded this game just fine, but what do i run it with???  Nothing works...

Technical Help is better for such issues than Newbie Help. What is your operating system, and what is the extension of the file you are trying to run?

And what is the version of what you have downloaded?  If it\'s 0.3.012, you just missed downloading the new release.  It should work if you follow the instructions in this post:

The update servers are not up and fully automatic yet.  The most foolproof method would be to just get 0.3.013, which seems to not have any major problems.  (yes, you\'ll still need to run the updater afterwards, though it\'ll be quick)

I dont know much about computers, but I have windows and i clicked the thing that says to download the game.  It took a long time, but i downloaded this file that was .dmg.  What next?

You download the Windows client.   ;(

If the extension is dmg, that\'s the Mac version you got there.  You\'ll kinda need to download the Windows version...

Ok now i ran the game using bittorrent and it shows an empty bar and it says \"abort torrent\" and \"torrent info,\" and it say 0.0% done.  What next?

You downloaded the small file \"PlaneShift_CBV0.3.013.exe.torrent\", 20 KBytes, right?

This is not yet the game. This is only the file which tells BitTorrent, where the other hundreds of people are who can give you pieces of the big installer \"PlaneShift_CBV0.3.013.exe\", which is ~263 MBytes large. Downloading that one will probably take half a day, depending on your internet connection; but with a slow modem and expensive dial-in costs, it may not be your kind of game anyway, you should have a cable or DSL connection and flatrate, because you will probably spend hours online with the game.
