too weak
« on: March 03, 2006, 02:11:10 pm »
I\'ve started plaing ps for 2/3 weeks now, and have found a really annoying thing: I am too weak, i can\'t kill anything at All, which means no money and no experience, no armour or nnew weapons to make fighting easier.

i have tried to get other quests in which to earn some Trias, but everywhere i go i am told \"No jobs\" or \"No quests for you today\"...

What am i to do?

I don\'t think you are too weak for anything that roams around!
Everyone can kill rats down in the sewers with his bare hands. Do so and collect and sell their loot to get some trias.

About the quests:
There are many ( working :P ) quests around. I suggest you to ask other players ingame where to get some basic tasks.

Would you like me to give you an axe? Easier to use than fists!

If you are too weak to beat up a rat, then you are too weak to use a weapon, except maybe a light small one.  Also, now when you don\'t have weapon skill with that weapon, chances are you will get beat up instead.

The advice for wandering monsters is incorrect, most of the wandering monsters are stronger than the ones that just sit in one place, but they all vary--the ones far out on the road are quite strong.  And if you are an enki, it is a long walk to Hydlaa sewers--go to the warehouse or pick a lone rat outside (they can gang up on you in the warehouse).

Have I spoiled anything?

**also, talk to others--they may know where to take you for the in game helpers that are spoilers to tell about**

I know how it feels as a weak character. My magic oriented character could hardly survive facing 2 rats in a row. Thus here\'s the deal. Firstly, be patient in asking for quests. Don\'t save up the money for magic spells so soon, but buy some equip to enable you to collect money and progression points faster.

Work on your character patiently and you will get strong enough to start working on spells. Even then, the spells need to be strengthened and will take time. But what\'s the hurry? Interact with others! If you\'re a healer, consider partying with others who needs your support, etc.

Make a new custom character.  Set both your parents to lumberjacks, maxed out.  Start with rats.  If you\'re ok with rats, go to clackers.

Use the money you earn on light armour training.  Melee or weapons training will help as well.

The thing is, this is all information that you could get from people in-game... have you been talking to people?  Asking for their help and advice?  People shouldn\'t be coming to the forums for something like this.

Perhaps you\'re right (I\'m too new to PS), but I\'ve noticed people who either say nothing (no matter how \"nice\" you try to interact) or challenge you to a duel.

But luckily, I\'ve also encountered a couple of people who did ask something or tried to interact... (so there\'s hope I guess).

But newbies like myself just try to get into it (perhaps too quickly/trying too hard) and want to be part of it.
