0.3.013 smaller?
« on: March 03, 2006, 10:00:23 pm »
Hi all,

I just downloaded 0.3.013 and noticed that the PS3D folder is much smaller than that of 0.3.012 (300-something MB rather than over 600 MB). Is the update missing files, or is it supposed to be like this?

EDIT: Also, when I open the folder, I find PSClient version 0.3.011. I\'m confused. It seems like other people were able to get the right version from the torrent file on the download page..

If your old folder was 600mb, then you must have acquired duplicate copies of stuff via the updater.  The original distributions were 275MB for v11 and no official distro for v12 (but it would have been somewhere around 300MB)

I don\'t think the client version number means anything so long as you have the updated files in your PS folder. I haven\'t downloaded .013 yet, but my client version number has stayed .007 after serveral updates and it has always worked fine.

Hi,

I got this from an entirely new download (i.e. I didn\'t run updater). I\'m trying again and working with dfryer in another thread. Thanks you, though! :)

I also noticed when I first  got into the game that my window was very small compared to what i was using in version 12.

I then tried to change my display  by first going into My preferences and changing the setting which I had on 1440 x 900.    Only when I put it on 1024 x 768 (stretched) did the game window increase.    later after leaving  the game and looking at pssetup did I notice that it was set at its maximum of 1280 x 960.
I tried to change it to 1440 x 900 but to no avail.  In fact I could not change anything in version 13 but when I checked the version 12 pssetup it had my setting of 1440 x 900 in it and I could change the setting.

Can we play version 13 with a pssetup using the old version 12 of pssetup?

Make sure you\'ve copied the game to your hard drive. You won\'t be able to change any settings on the DMG. ;) Check the privileges as well. Other than that, it may be that there was a limitation of some sort added to CrystalSpace. *shrug*

P.S. Why did you post that in this thread? You did read what this thread is about, right? :\\ Your post belongs in a new thread.

Why?   Oh maybe I goofed.   I read the folder size as the window size.  Must have had window size on the brain problem.    Yes, probably you are correct in saying I should have started a new thread. X(

Later on today, decided to try pssetup again.  Even though a click on the other
window type could not allow me to set it up as 1440 x 900, I Did try to a click on
the 1024 x 768 window screen and also set the same in my Mac preferences the display section and when I tried the game. I did end with a big screen.
