can i get some help please. its my first time playing and i downloaded the game this morning so its up to date. Everything works find up until i try log in with my charater. my isp is good and the other online games im playing work fine...

One good first troubleshooting step is to turn off the sound in the Planeshift Setup.  Uncheck the option for \'Enable sound\' there and see if it makes a difference.

But did you also use the updater?
After installing the client you still need to use the updater. The installation program tells you to do so, and that for a good reason.

And then, you maybe should read some of the IMPORTANT threads (like about specifying your problems)

btw, there is no need to draw attention by unconventional thread titles...

lol ok im sorry for that but its the best way of getting attention, Yeah i installed all the updates and i was playing on the server there a second ago but then i got cut out with the same error message...          
                                   wait unless the update wont work with the auto update............well then no! i only use the auto update feature
