IF you came here looking for a furry game...
« on: March 05, 2006, 12:28:59 am »
..this is not what you\'re looking for. Lately I\'ve been noticing some misguided people around the net mistaking this for a furry fandom game. it\'s not, and if you think it is you\'re horribly mistaken. This rumor probably started because of people seeing things from our fanart forum, or say enkis, and came to the conclusion that this was indeed a furry fandom game, but it\'s not, and most of the stuff furries like to do will get you a speedy ban here.

Just a warning.

Rather than be such a downer as some, I\'ll be nice and offer a few suggestions instead.

As sesmi said, this is not a \'furry based\' game.

If you did come here, I encourage you to stay, have a look around, and hopefully enjoy yourself, but please keep in mind, most people here are not of the \'furry fandom\' and do not Role Play thier characters to be of the \'furry type\'.

If you are looking for a \'furry based game\', I suggest you try:

1)Furcadia
2)Furnation Worlds

and for those of who probably have no idea what I am talking about:

Wikipedia: Furry Fandom

Hope this helps.

I never thought about furry fandom, I guess I have stumbled upon things by far more unusual since discovering the internet.

However, I must say that any furry fandom fan would probably be very thrilled with PlaneShift.  After all the clearest and most complete animagraph offered in the game is the enkis, and the fenkis are even better graphed and more complete than the menkis.  [I am going by what the wikipedia says of furry fandom.]

Still, if there is some kink underculture involved with the furry fandom, then I\'d suppose it isn\'t for children as the wiki article states, and therefore such underculture shouldn\'t be openly rpgd in PlaneShift.  Interesting though, all the girly posters in Hydlaa are fenkis: at the closed dancehall (or is it a theater) in the alleys, and such.

Maybe some furry fandom fan is behind all the extra work put into the enkis.

[I guess sesmi knows more about what furries like to do than me, but this 3D game seems quite advanced to those iso games]

I was pretty sure those are Diaboli...

*edit*

These?

They were always Diaboli, since MB. I don\'t remember any other posters, really.

Come to think of it I remember a diaboli--it would make more sense for the diaboli to be portrayed in them (judging from the charcter description of diaboli).

Go into the back alleys--tho, and check by the tower.  The last ones I\'ve seen were fenkis.  Perhaps they\'ve been changed for the new version though

[Some ___ put in an os file requirement in the new version that closed me out of the game.]

***Ahh, you edited to put in screenshots, a menki gawking at a diaboli girlie poster, and a diaboli female (which does not exist in game) Now I see that they are indeed diaboli and not fenkis--just put it together with the active fenki, and my brain saw fenki.

Now question is, who is the Diaboli female? :D Oviously she must be some celebrity (bard, singer, player) but why is she on a poster in Hydlaa? Because she is coming to town, of course...
Somebody needs to RP that girl and hold a concert or something.

umm.... yes. alot of people in the fandom like to.... .....

......

Can\'t say it on a PG site. If you really want to know a quick google search of \"furry\" will probably answer your question.

What people do in thier own personal time does not give you, me, nor anyone else\'s the ability to judge them for it.

Just like every popular topic, there are those that will engage in recreational activities that others will not approve but you know what?  That still doesn\'t give anyone the right to bash/ make fun of/ hate them.  If you don\'t like what they do, then don\'t get involved.  As long as they aren\'t forcing anyone to watch/take part/etc. then let them do what they enjoy doing.

And for your information, it is not all, it is not many, it just a small group compared to the whole of the \'furry community\'.  The word \'furry\' in itself, is slang for anthropomorph; an animal based character that shares similarities to humans.

Micky Mouse is a furry, Donald Duck is a furry. People who draw/make costums/ look at \'furry\' art, are sometimes classified as being furries. Some people have made \'fursonas\' for them selves; what they would see them selves if they where an anthropomorphic animal.  (and just for stupid trivia knowledge, the most popular animal is the wolf, go figure)  They draw art with thier \'fursona\' or they make costumes and dress up as their fursona at conventions.

Like every genre, there are those that like to take thier fantasies a bit more, adult, than others.  Their are \'furry\' conventions all over the world, where there are some who dress up in a costume.  Same with \'anime conventions\'. Same with \'sci-fi\' conventions.  And there are those that will do acts while in costume that other people do not approve of, or would not engage in themselves.  Do I mind that they engage in these behaviors? Of course not, they keep their activities to themselves and they don\'t force thier actions on anyone.  I say let em have their fun in their private life.  It\'s not for me, but that doesn\'t give me the right to bash them for it.

To put it in perspective, lets take a popular \'geek\' topic: Star Wars.  You know what, theres alot of people that like to play dress up and engage in more adult like RP activities.  It\'s the same difference.

I don\'t have a problem with anyone and what they do in their private life.  I only have a problem with people that bash people becuase they are too close minded to accept other people for what they are.  /end rant.

*standing ovations from all my personas across the mmorphic net!*

Great speech. That\'s no rant. That\'s a way of telling people in a nice way to SHUT UP:D

Yep, if you don\'t want to whine, don\'t get involved[unless it\'s a development issue like \"maps\"*shudders*].

Meet the same resistance in school, yet i do nothing. I just act differently then others. I am myself and some people try to find an explanation and then, in a flash, they simply rest their cases by whispering i\'m homosexual, as that would be any different other from their point of view.

Good Post :)

Oh forgot *[/rant]* :D

Well, if we were looking for furries, then there would not be any elves, or dwarves, or humans. Furry things would generally be ALL furry, such a furcadia as previously pointed out.

Also, we can use this safe word: Yiff.

Nope dragonfire they see that as furry as well.

\"fantasy creatures such as dragons, orcs, and elves should also be considered furry\"

That is from tbvp\'s link.

And Karyuu when did i post 2 times in a row or even 3 times in a row?
