Hiya,

Have you ever used torrents before? The process is fairly simple.

You can get latest PlaneShift version following those simple steps:
1) Get BitTorrent client and install it.
2) Click here to get PlaneShift Crystal Blue 0.3.013

Is there something more specific we could help you with?

Once you click on the torrent file, it will begin to download. As you hit 100%, you\'ll have the complete file (saved in a location either you specified, or BitTorrent\'s default) called \"PlaneShift_CBV0.3.013.exe\". To make searching for that file simpler, you can simply use Windows \"Search...\" command and look for a file of that name. If you cannot find a file of that name, you probably haven\'t finished downloading it yet - the process may take up to a few hours.

That\'s how torrents work :) You can exit at any time, and the download will resume as soon as you open the application again.

Hey, I was wondering if someone could help me out.

I have a 56k modem and am currtently dling the exe by bittorrent, I figure at this rate I have another 7 days until I can open it.

I was wondering how big the patch files once I get the exe dled and if they resume download if they are bigger than an hour of dling would allow.

Also I have a cheap dell and was wondering if My current chip type according to dxdiag is Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset would run
this game. Since I have only spent two days dling the game so far I figured if I am waisting my time it wouldn\'t be much wasted.

I am big on not being at a serious disadvantage online. If I am going to be playing, seeing lagged motion and conversations of several minutes I would probably be upset. If the modem connection will be decent enough to let me function semi normally I will be happy to be a productive addition to your communtiy, otherwise I\'ll continue to sift through bland muds in hope for a 2d mmorpg revolution =D

I work nights so I usually on in the \"late\" evening central time, feel free to message me on aim,
my user name is fathem.

Thanks!

Unfortunately the card seems iffy :/ It falls well below the minimum requirements, but if the rest of your system is great, it -may- not be horrible. Far from a perfect experience, however. Maybe post what the rest of your system specs are?

Patches that come through the updater won\'t be nearly as large, no :) If the updater mirrors are working, that shouldn\'t take more than half an hour to finish, under normal conditions. Worse comes to worse, less than a day, certainly. Luckily your connection speed doesn\'t matter when it comes to lag, so if you just manage to upgrade your system some, things would work out :]

Right now you have an integrated graphics chip on your motherboard, not a separate card which would mean greater power. In effect, this is basically \"not having\" a graphics card. Most such chipsets cannot handle intensive 3D games, as they are made for lighter applications. The good news is that it\'s fairly easy to upgrade yourself (I do believe though that fiddling inside a case of your machine may break some warranties, so there are risks) - all you\'d need is a good graphics card, which aren\'t too expensive these days, and knowledge on proper installation :) Luckily we have the internet, which can be a good source for both of these. Newegg.com is a great source for various system parts, and you can usually find a Geforce or ATI card for under $100, or just a tiny bit more. Aim for one with 128MB or above.

You\'ve a decent processor and a good amount of RAM, but I doubt you would have much of a pleasant gaming experience - the graphics are bound to be a bit weird, sadly.

Thanks for the help. I\'ll keep dling the game and see if its playable. I can\'t upgrade it because it isn\'t mine but I get to use it whenever I want. I\'m more of a social gamer than someone looking for astonishing graphics. So as long as its playable I\'ll be content.

If not, I\'ll just free up that quarter of a gig. =D
