Game Freezes On Connect Screen

After I created my character and uploaded it and tried to connect, the game froze at the connect screen, once the message \"Initializing Game World\" came up.  Does this mean that the server is down or is there something else wrong?  I tried several times to connect and the same thing happened every time.  I\'m running Windows 98, if it matters.  Thanks!

Also, you should include more information about your system, like video card, amount of ram, soundcard, directx version, connection to internet speed, and anything else you can think of.

Sorry, but after reading through about 20 posts with subjects like \"I need help\", \"Newbie needs help\", \"Problem\", and \"Help Please\", I got sick of searching and decided to ask myself.  I guess I\'ll go keep searching then...

There is nothing wrong with it, Initializing world takes a while.

Or could it be that another person has encountered an actual problem with the game, as I did, and there is a real and true fix?

Not all \"Problem with game\" reports are fixed by \"it is too working, just wait\".  Matter of fact, no post I have seen yet has been fixed by your standardized response.

Perhaps you should look a bit more in depth at what you are replying to, instead of remaining steadfast in your role of doing nothing productive.

They said it is frozen there, and it doesn\'t freeze there, anyone who waits after that has found out it works, they need some patience. People don\'t post back because they see what they didn\'t expect, an unfinished MMORPG, when they expected a full game, you tweaked a few settings and fixed a simple error that only you were having, and now you want to go around acting like god? I think not.

actually link, it can and does freeze on initializing world, and yes, I was patient(3 hours). true, all it took was tweaking a few settings, but there are many people out there who don\'t know that there ARE settings, let alone how to tweak them.  and anystra, i really can\'t remember which stuff i changed, but it was all in the psclient.cfg file(i think) sorry i can\'t be more specific.

The problem is that although people get the same problem, they each have something different causing it and each time someone finds a fix it turns out to only work for them....and Link is right, although there are some rare occurences that there is a real problem, most of the time it is fixed by waiting

It\'s not like it matters much, there\'s nothing you can do with the tech demo anyways except look, and you can do that by looking at the screenshots

I get that same problem and I dont think its just lag because A screen pops up that says an error occured.

This question is answered a thousand times and you can not point out a valid place that it is answered?

If it has been answered a thousand times and as it seems, a lot of the people all experience this same problem, why is it not on the known bugs list?

Well for people who wants PS to load faster... try LINUX... I am not joking!! On my PC the game is 3 times longer to load!
