Move enki Spawn back ot hydlaa.
« on: March 13, 2006, 12:40:01 am »
I Think that having one race and one race only spawn in another city is totally unfair. Most of my times seems to be spent just walking back to hydlaa. I think it\'s a great idea for people to spawn in different places, but for just one race it\'s unfair.

Ojaveda isn\'t a very newbie friendly city either. I keep seeing newbies getting killed by rouges as soon as they start the game. Most of the quests and shops are in hydlaa as well.

It\'s just not fair to do this with only a single race. Wait for a few more before you start race-specific spawns. It will be better for everyone.

With Enkis spawning in Oja, they get to experience Hydlaa in an entirely different way.  While they might have developed their characters in Oja, they suddenly come to Hydlaa with all that on the table already.  They aren\'t new players, but they\'re new to Hydlaa, and that adds colour to the game.

The problem is, people from Hydlaa don\'t experience Oja the way people from Oja experience Hydlaa.  In Hydlaa, you have a kind of community where old players help new players.  It\'s the center of the player economy, and almost all role playing events happen there.  Most of the guilds do their recruitment there as well.  In Oja, that\'s really not the case.  People leave there and never come back once they discover Hydlaa.  Hydlaa is better in terms of developing your character, levelling up skills, getting equipment, and meeting people.  Hydlaa feels like a city, while Oja feels like a remote village.  If the devs can work it to make Oja feel more like a thriving community, then a spawn point there would be great.

So while there is motivation for people in Oja to find Hydlaa, there isn\'t the same kind of motivation for people in Hydlaa to find Oja.  I think that there needs to be motivation for people to spend their time in Akkaio.  A few guilds have tried to turn it into their homebase - the Community of Valnoor and the Defenders - but they weren\'t very successful.

Oja will one day be as busy, just look at all those empty shops with no staff in it :|. For now the best thing that can be done is WE as a community must make it more intresting maybe create some player made shops there, to make people travel and talk. Altough perhaps the devs could make another race temporarily spawn there to even the load abit. I admit its a pain in the behind spawning there at the moment.

Sure it sucks spawning in oja if you want to spend all your time in hydlaa... but I like to spend most of my time in oja or in the hills. I help newbies in oja and protect them from the rogues, roam the hills and really only go to hydlaa if I\'m meeting someone there. I kinda like how oja isn\'t so busy, but that\'s just me...

What about maybe paying the death guardian to put you back where you were when you died or something similar?  It would be easy to implement - just go back a few movements - sort of an intelligent unstick command that costs money. :D

the thing is, that would be really unfair for people who die because of a bug. they would end of having to pay just to stay where they were. at this point in the game it\'s best just to not isolate certain people.

Not to mention paying the death guardian to put yourself back at place defeats the whole purpose of the death realm currently.

(I know about the planned bribing bit with magical weapons/expensive stuff and such later on to skimp on the DR. That doesn\'t count.)
Crazy am I. Not responsable for crazyness that ensues.

why not MANY random rebirth points.  One never know where they will return?  Any race?

Well... because that\'s the way the Dark Gods function? :P
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
