the only thing I can think of...
use console option and let\'s see if something is told there.

To do that, edit your planeshift.exe shortcut right clicking on it then selecting properties.
You\'ll see, in the first tab, something like ....psclient.exe\"

You\'d change it so it looks like ...psclient.exe\" -console

that is you\'d add -console after psclient.exe\" and please do notice that there\'s a blank space between \" and -
That way, the next time you launch the game, there should be a secondary window, recording \"events\".
You\'d try adding an screenshot of that window at the same spots you were this time, that is, one at char creation, and another with the map loaded. Perhaps that helps.

As for the error on exiting, I think it\'s well known, don\'t worry about it now.

Ok.

Well, seems that the problem origin is in cristalspace not loading the graphic3d.shader.software. That seems obvious.
How to solve it? Ah... now there\'s the hard work.

Since you\'ve updated the game and drivers... from the other log I see you touched something in Setup. Because it\'s loading all maps.
Suggestion, uncheck \"loading all maps\".
Try also to see if \"vertex buffer\" is off or on (leave it off)
Ensure you\'re in 32 depth mode.
Try also with the shortcut -fullbright (instead of -console) and see if something changes.

Mmmm
now your problem is closer to the one reported here:
http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=22220&boardid=17&page=2

Did you compile your PlaneShift version? If so, take a look at that thread.

I am now wondering if this can be Win64 related? Perhaps the \"standard\" version that comes with the installer isn\'t good friend with your S.O and you\'d indeed install the game through compiling binaries?

I honestly don\'t know how to help you from now on, I\'ll try to get someone poked. :P

I tried the fixes there and they didnt work...

*edit*

er Ne one besides Nilrem wanna take a crack at fixing this plz?

Please avoid posting two or more successive posts before others have replied, especially for bumping threads. Other people know the thread exists, so they\'ll get to it eventually, probably as soon as they figure out how to answer. --Karyuu

I don\'t really know if anyone has tried to get PS to work under 64-bit Windows, so this is a bit unusual.  It works under 64-bit Linux, but that\'s an entirely other story.  (and needs to be compiled for such)  You could try compiling for Win64 yourself, but in all likelihood if you don\'t even know what that means, you won\'t be able to do that yourself.

Theoretically, it should work on Win64 just fine, and run in 32-bit mode... theoretically...  We may need to ask some CS people about this one.  Be patient, please.  We\'ll see what we can do.

From the errors you are posting it is as if you are trying to run PS with the software renderer instead of OpenGL?

Mmmm.

A chance lost to dig in a problem  :(

Seems then that this confirms my suspicious, the problem resides in windows64 not being friend with PlaneShift.
Perhaps users under windows64 need to compile the game for binaries, I consider a thing to be tested that someone with windows64 could ensure that compiling from CVS works in his system, and if so, state that on the main site of the game \"Windows64 users need to download sources from CVS and compile them following this guidelines instead of downloading the official client release\".
In the case it still doesn\'t work, it should be noted, imo, that windows64 isn\'t yet supported by PS.

Actually I wouldn\'t say that. Given that PS works fine on 64-bit systems (Linux that is) I think the problem is more in crappy windows OpenGL drivers for 64-bit systems. And not in CS or PS as such.

Yes, you also have a separate thread. There is no need to comment with \"Me too\", especially when this isn\'t -quite- the same problem ;)
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
