Moving to valid position at sector...... bug.
« on: March 16, 2006, 09:02:37 pm »
Greetings.
This bug is very often for me. (4 times at last 2 hours) My character is being moved to valid position all the time (like every few secs or when Im trying to move) and I have to restart to keep the game working. I have to say it moves me without me writing /unstick even for the first time ;). I once tryied to ignore it and run around place. Even when it moved me back a lot, but finally it teleported me to the end of world. ;)

Anyway, its boring to restart as often. Seems like this bug is even more often than greeting, trading with all bug in previous version of PS. (I didnt have problems with those two in current version, but it seems this new one came.) I asked some people and it seems Linux or Win version users didnt have this problem, so it should be Mac specific issue.

I don\'t quite understand what\'s happening here.  Could you explain it in more detail?  What exactly is the process of events here?  (is it actually saying \"moving you to a valid location\"?)

Sure. Im normaly playing and than it writes:

\"Moving to valid position at sector....\"

Like if I used /unstick command, which I didnt. This would not be a big problem. But problem is, that when it begins it repeats over and over every few secs.

One more thing - seems like this problem is showing mainly in Hydlaa, I first noticed it at Library, than at Hydlaa Plaza etc. I didnt have it outside of city, but that doesnt mean it doesnt exist there. I should test it more...

harrycrompton:
How many times do I have to say this?... Using your email address for your forums username is just stupid.  You\'re volunteering for spam.  Bots crawl all over the \'Net, and if it\'s somewhere they\'ll eventually find it.  Abandon that account and make another with a decent username.

What\'s your connection like?  It sounds like it might be a lag side-effect.  The plaza gets crowded, and if you can\'t quite handle all the messages then a few things might get messed up.  Not really sure, though.  It\'s just a guess.

I have cable connection 1024/128 kb/s. But this was problem related to older version. I didnt have it after last updates although I havent played as much so maybe I just didnt see it yet. And I agree, could be made up by lag... Maybe it could be even my hardware problem? (too slow comp - G4 1,2 Ghz, 512 RAM)

Still its interesting that I havent heard about PC user with this problem.

Your system sounds fine.  It could be a Mac specific bug, but no clue really.
