Stats--specifically strength

I logged on today and found that I couldn\'t equip an axe i could always have equipped before.  I went into the skill/stats window adn saw it said for my strength was 150(138).  I found this very weird cuz how can my STR be over my max w/o a spell or something.  Ontop of that, (it used to be 150(150) the decrease in that stopped me from being able to equip an axe.  I used a strength glyph, but after it wore off my axe went back to my inventory.

This is very annoying.  I found no other person, even a dermorian with maxed strength, that I have talked to at least had this problem.

EDIT*** I wonder...  I last logged out while under the effects of the might spell...so maybe, when I logged on, it put me at 150(150) and then took off 12 when the spell wore off (which it did).

EDIT***I finally got around to relogging and that fixed it.

I too had an issue with my str falling.  Every time I would check it it would  be lower and my HP would fall as well. 90(86) then 90(58).  Then I tried to equip a pick to mine and I got the message my inventory is full and all my item spiled out onto the ground.  People where stealing my hard erned items. It was horrible.  My str went down to 90(20) before I just logged off and back on to fix it.

I noticed again while traveling down the Oja road I looked at my str again and low and behold, it was falling again! What is causing this?  Is it a bug?  Am I cursed?  Do I have a combination of items that is causing this?

Is reloading enough to get rid of the bug related to the use of the strength spell? I had to disconnect while my char was under its effects and when i came back i got the same problem as shorty13. Now my strength is at 150(114) and it's quite annoying. I reloaded the game about four times but it didn't change anything.
Can someone help?

The bug is back!!!

Same thing happened to me - each time I re-log on my strength decreases and my agility increases - randomly strength goes back up again, but (so far) not back up to max.

Yes I dropped stuff out my inventory too while trying to equip/move things out of sacks etc.

Couple of suggestions, if you crashed/logged off under influence of Strength or Weakness you will see a stat change when you relog. Best thing to try is not to relog for about 5 mins allowing the server to reset to your default stat values. If you have equipment in sacks and are trading from them the registered weight of the sack does not decrease. You need to move something in/out of inventory for the correct values to reassert themselves. I usually equip/dequip weapons regularily to make sure that the real weight allowance is not exceeded. Interesting to see post concerning an axe and strength decreasing while agility increases. You may have a "magical" weapon that is giving stat increase in one area and decrease in another. Dequip into inventory, log off and do not relog for 5 mins. Hopefully your original stat values will return. If you continue to log off/on without leaving time for server to reset to default, with the item still equiped, you run the risk of dropping all your items.

You are right logging off overnight has set everything to (almost) normal - But if I log off and on again I still lose strength. I'll try the 5 min thing and see if that helps.

EDIT:
With the help of Merrlyn, I now realise that the culprit is a Rat's Stone Battle Axe. It drops STR by 2 and raises Agility by when equipped. BUT when dequiipped, it loses 8 STR points - and this is accumulative. With the advent of /repair I have been recycling my weapons and this was reducing my STR (by 10 oints each equip/dequip).

The solution in the short term is to log off for at least 5 minutes; the long term solution is to get a new axe!

Comment: If this is a feature, it doesn't feel authentic - why would you lose so much strength each time you put the same axe away? I can understand how equipping a weapon might enhance or reduce some stats.
