Seasons, weather?
« on: January 04, 2003, 11:05:46 pm »
There should be all 4 seasons in the areas further away from the equator (Wherever that may lie) and continuelly hot closer to the equator.  At christmas time the house should be decorated or there should be some large christmas tree.
Or there could be areas that could be snowy or rainy all the time.  Either of these ideas would help create contrast among different atmospheres.  Instead of just living in a sunny area all of the time.
Maybe minni games such as sledding races available in the winter or preasents such as like armor and equipment at christmas? Or you slowly Lose health if you don\'t buy garments in the winter?
please add your suggestions :baby:

K, thank you for telling me this but are the cities completely underground or just in big holes? I did see the sun in the sky.

No, you did not see a sun in the sky. Please go to the main website and you will understand.

There can be seasons even if the whole world lies beneath the surface. Because it becomes colder even under the surface. However snow is impossible, and I doubt that the inhabitants in PS celebrates cristmas, even if they do it in reality. That just wouldn\'t be serious. ;)

If the caves lies deeply enought, then it must become warmer the longer down you travel.
The lower parts has got to be very hot and the upper ones become colder. From what I\'ve understood there will be a possibility to reach the surface, so perhaps there will be seasons after all. At least on the surface.

If Yliakum was set on earth, then it would get hotter as you go down deeper, but it doesnt say anywhere that Yliakum is on the planet earth.

Yeah, and even on earth, you would have to dig many miles down to get to where it got hot, it would get colder the further you went down. I don\'t think all planets have a molten core in them either.

Actually that isn\'t true Link.  The South African gold mines, for example, are still under a mile deep and it is more than 100F (40C) under there all the time.

But how can a world have lava if there\'s no molten core ?(

Yep, blame it on magic.

Anyway, it\'s a game. A Fantasy  game. No-one said it had to be realistic.

hey, it could even be some geological quirk that we don\'t understand...

Oh please no rain!!! Morrowind is a good example of rain, your FPS goes from 100fps to 5fps in less then a second when it starts raining.

As it is right now, PS\'s rain (CS pluggin) is non-intensive.
