Unfortunately, the Milita Exercise was scheduled for the same time as the Server Maintenance.

So it will be postponed to another day and time.

And I hope it will start earlier next time, because Europeans are always handicapped with such a schedule.

Well, the Militia exercise did take place, in part... until the server went down for maintenance.

We gathered in the Plaza and the turnout was very satisfactory, we reached 39 people in the group. Thanks to you all... you make it all worth while.  :)

A word on Azure Squad guild: This guild was created solely for the purpose of the exercise. Many people were worried about joining it, and I would like to reassure them. Azure Squad guild is not to be considered a guild, as it has no other purpose than to provide the guildless people in an exercise with a communications channel. At the end of the exercise, the people in it will be graciously kicked out. ;)

All the other squads will be formed by guilds, since they can use their own guild chat. Even though all participants are grouped together, the group chat is reserved for long-range communication between squad leaders. For all other communications, we use normal chat and /shout.

We\'re going to have this exercise again, and finish it. To make things simpler, the guild leaders need to contact Ogu ingame or refer to the Militia page to enlist their volunteers and make the grouping easier and quicker. The volunteers need to be informed by their squad leaders and they really need to accept the group invites... so many people were declining. Likewise, the guildless people need to know where to go to be invited into Azure Squad. It\'s a lot to organize, but if we plan ahead we can carry out an enjoyable exercise without wasting too much time.

This was the first time we ever planned such an exercise and it was mostly a learning experience. We have learned a lot and will be putting our lessons to the test next time. Again, thanks to all who participated in any way, for your help and your patience. Next time, it will be better! ;)

Last but certainly not least, a warm thank you to all the people who helped organize the exercise. It\'s people like you who make this game alive.

Well done Ogu.

I had great fun leading Azure Squad. They were an honourable bunch. Now that i have my own guild, ill try and clean it up in time for the next exercise. I can\'t wait to finish a full exercise. And of course.. if you need any help you know where to find me.

Stay Safe,

I have never in the whole time being in Yliakum seen such a gathering and it was exciting to see all these people participate. Thank you to all of the people who came to join in the event and had patience when the organizing was taking place. I am looking forward greatly to the next exercise and know it will be twice as fun just by trial and error with the first exercise.

Now for my favortie part Screenis \\o/
I was really impressed with the Way Of The Hammer Guild and their formation. We could learn alot from them. :D Way to go.....

Ogu and all who helped! I for one loved the exercise!!! Shame about the server, but what the hell, next time, we\'ll finish it.

If any one feels like posting some screenies here, please do so, so I can brag a bit more about the dwarven squad :p

Well, we have Proglin\'s superb organization and leadership skills to thank.  I loved the syncronized salutes.  I wonder what it would look like with a squad of 50 dwarves.  :D

A big thumbs up to Hammer Squad for being the most organized group in the excercise.  They are indeed a force to be reckoned with.
I think the excercise went very well for being the first one and although my task of grouping everyone was delayed by a couple of declines, things went fairly smoothly overall, at least until the crash.
I have to give Lord Ogu and all the squad leaders a pat on the back for this one.
As far as Azure squad goes, I did not envy Easton his task and he did well with what he had, I would also like to thank that motley bunch for showing some self control and not running amok.
The next one is going to be even better.
:D

Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
