Mage ways int and will, vica versa compared to the guide?
« on: March 27, 2006, 04:42:29 pm »
ok im new and was planing on going the red and azure which the guide says is based on will, but when i go to use my progression points on magice it says they are int and blue and brown is will! So im like \"WTF\" at the moment. iv done a search of the forum but only found this thread which doesnt really seem to give a clear and defient answer.
Could some1 pls tell me which is correct and be 90% sure of it?

Thx

I\'m 90% sure that it really doesn\'t matter much yet. Spells are underpowered at the moment and higher stats have very little impact on their strength from what I\'ve noticed.

There\'s a bug report, precisely stating this:
http://planeshift.oodlz.com/bugtracker/bug.php?op=show&bugid=747&pos=2

There\'s really no official answer about it, I guess someone should browse through the code, but as I\'ve seen Zan posted, now it really doesn\'t make a difference.

Still, know that the bug is assigned, so hopefully someone will be looking for it, and ask the appropiate person about which stats correspond to each way.
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

However--all three of them contribute to your mana = how much magic you can use.  The individual ones only account to how fast you can use a way & possibly, how effective they are.  Zanzi is probably right, that the magic is underpowered, but at very high levels of skill and stats it is quite fast and so could be as powerful as a weapon.  [I\'m refering to the more basic spells: arrow, life infusion, weakness, armor, wind.  There is also a well known secret (not so secret) to more powerful spells--which involves using them correctly--you can learn this in game by paying attention to what you are doing.]
