3 hrs downloading, File won't run
« on: March 30, 2006, 05:02:00 am »
Hi,

I\'ve just spent 3+ hours downloading your file, and after following your instructions fully find that PlaneShift_CBV0.3.013.exe, wont run or even open.

It says the installer I am trying to run is  corrupted or incomplete.

Living in NZ our bandwith is not exactly speedy- and is restricted and costly - any suggestions?

I\'m not keen to use up my bandwidth to start all over again.

Have you used BitTorrent, or a mirror? Is the size of your download around 276,508,676 bytes?
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Yep, tried bittorrent - with a proposed download time of 4 DAYS!!!

I\'ll have another go with bittorrent but I\'m not prepared to wait 4 days for download.

The checksum programme didn\'t appear to work properly  either, it flashed up too briefly to read any results.

*edit*

Also tried three of the mirror sites - all had differing download speeds with most taking longer than the 3 hours that I eventually selected - many running to 5+ hours

Please avoid posting two or more successive posts before others have replied. Just edit your last post to add new information :) Thanks! --Karyuu

OOps, Sorry! Fragmented thinking - slowly catching on, thanks for the heads up Karyuu!   -- KiwiSol

*update*
Bittorrent finally came through, took ages to download but  now have a working copy to use Yippeee
