May I make a suggest Ma\'am.  If you are going to do portraits, you might want to have neutral backgrounds.  Rather than landscapes or buildings.  It would be simple for a person of your skills.

Miss Zorbes, there should be a useful filter somewhere called canvas or something. To make your arts look more....natural, you should try it. You end up with a painting that looks as if done on actual canvas. Like this.

Your Kran on canvas

Also, for linking your images here, copy the \'Direct link to image\' Embeddable Code. If you have bb codes turned on, click the \'http://\' tab. Write the name of your art, aka , then hit enter. Now, paste the direct link in the window and hit enter again.

If you don\'t have bb codes on, type [*URL=][/URL]  (exclude the * and <> in your link)

*Zorbels look to UnderTheMoon gratefully* \"You deserve a chocolate covered strawberry!\" *pops one in Moon\'s mouth.

[ooc] Thanks for your suggestions Moon. I think the Kran that you have done looks way more realistic. My idea is to make it look like Zorbels herself sketched and painting these portraits. I discovered overlaying and Fading. I also took the back ground out of one of the pictures and was pleased to see the results as I played around with it using filters. Today will be my third day using Photoshop and I can\'t wait to see what I learn!

Indeed nice done but try to get rid of those outlines in my opinion it gives the whole picture a... erm... to comicesque look.
But besides that: as I said, nice :-)

Good job so far, the colours are well balanced altough some are a bit too faded, the proportions are good (:D) but you have to work a bit on the weight problems. For example in Learch Portrait 3 you have that line that defines the top-left corner of the picture. That could be moved to the lower right corner to balance the weight towards the middle (the center of atention is shifted a bit left in that case). Also, you could improve your paintings by adding lines that help defining the primary and secondary (if any) centers of attention.
For example the karan painting id pure genious as far as balance and center of attention defining is concerned. Here you notice that there  is a primary CA, the kran, and you can see all the red lines pointing towards it, and a secondary CA that is the tree on the right (cyan lines help defining that).
A little improvement would be required to battle scenes, or scenes that involve movement (like the \"Menki in battle\" picture). Those require oblic lines (I don\'t know, maby you could add some oblic skews) in order to give a dynamic impression.
I\'m looking further to see more paintings and sketches ;)
