Other Language Modules

When the games reaches beta state we could translate the game text in other languages (german or french for example)

This Way the Player could choose the prefered language when he applies for an account.

The Game will reach more players from around the world.

This idea has been considered and will be probably be implemented.
I am not sure if it has been mentioned in the boards yet.
But the devs (specifically Vengeance) have had discussions about adding that particular feature.

Why not?  :D  I?m thinkin of makin a seperate server for at least two other languages .. sure there are negative aspects as well ...  3 Languages on one server could be confusing ... seperate servers could also be bad cause we all want many players on ONE server.

Translating just the In Game Menu and Gametext and keep the talking language english could force many players to talk in their language .... ahhhh it?s confusing me heh

just a little brainstorming ...

what do u think bout it?

There should be a seperate version a server for each language, otherwise i would become rapidly bamboozled!?!?!?!!

Why are people talking different languages a problem ? If you walk down the street in any fairly big city, there will be severel languages spoken. This is not a problem.

When you walk down the street and people speak different languages thats not a problem because thats not that many people.  You are still in the majority of people who speak English.  If you wanted to find someone in that city that speaks English, it is not a problem.  If you were on a server where 2/3 of the people didn\'t speak your language it would create confusion.  It is very frustrating trying to buy, trade and play the game when the majority of the people don\'t speak your language.  An MMORPG is about the community of people online together, and when that community can\'t commicate efficiently the game isn\'t nearly as fun.  If you have played on another language server (like chinese) you will know what i am talking about.

Monocle is right it will cause much confusion .. maybe an idea how to handle this situation best will come to my sick mind sooner or later.... seperate servers means seperate ppl which means fewer people on the main server and that?s not very useful cause we all want to play with as many players as possible in one world.

I am hoping post-MB to write a chat translator module so that people can write in any language and see everyone\'s talking to them in their own language.

This obviously wouldn\'t work perfectly, but would be designed to let people smalltalk, roleplay a little and work together in combat groups across languages.

This would be a very good attempt, sure it will not work perfectly and sure it will sound a bit funny (we all know translation machines) but i think it?s enough to make ppl play together.

Beside that you could build in a \"Choose Language\" Menu into the Client so that the Interface is beeing translated into the users language.

I can do a german translation to the Client so call me if you need it ;-)

whoa, i like that idea venge.  
There should be some kind of signal of whether something is being translated or not.
That way we would know if something is making sense because of the translator.  

Maybe colored text?
