Can i join the forum?

I know this may be a stupid question, since i allready joined. The reason im asking is because im in love with the game, even though i dont have it.

The reason i dont have it is because i have a VERY old computer, and dont meet the requirments for the game (Lack of RAM), and untill my dad decides to either buy more ram, or change the computer all in all, which i trully hope he will, i cant play the game.

When i get the requirments you can be sure ill play the game. This is why i am asking if its ok, to rp in the forum untill then. If its not, there is no problem and ill leave. ^^ I understand this is the game comunity so.. can i stay?

Welcome to Yliakum, and as far as I am concerned of course you can stay

It will be hard to actually rp in the forum but by using the player guide you can choose and develop your background without actually entering the game.

And of course share it with us in the storywriting section and you can also get help and info from the irc channel irc.freenode.org #planeshift

Yay!! Thank you so much. I did read the manual twice, and the setting and background thing. It will be a chalenge to actually create a good character sheet, without screwing it up, but i think i can manage. Thanks for the warm welcome !!

You should definitely stick around. Some people here can run the game just fine but choose to spend most of their time on forums, until their favorite parts get implemented properly.

What are your computer specifications exactly? You say not enough RAM but how much RAM do you have? You may be able to run the game anyway by tweaking some settings and using a custom resolution like 640x480.

On the computer part:

I myself had Planeshift run on an rather old computer, which barely met the requirements (except RAM, of which I only had 256 MB), so I\'d say it\'s worth giving it a try.

So now about the staying part, ..., I see absolutely no reason why you should not be allowed to stay. You are trying to get involved with PS, it\'s community and Role playing, that\'s reason enough for you to stay.

Indeed, Master steuben is correct. I have been here for two winters now, and only started to actually play and RP PlaneShift a few months ago. As this is not really too much like pen and paper, the need for \'sheets\' is not a necessity at this time. Just know who your character is, and hold to that. Write a few stories, or start an RP thread in the RP forum. It is a good way to get to know your character.

Amelia I am truly sorry that you cannot join with us in game. Roleplay I think is most welcome here on the forums and it would be refreshing to have new posts of roleplays to read and join in on.

@steuben: Well rp mostly, i\'m not a terrific writer so my stories might seem a bit off. I draw mostly, so..

@Under the Moon: When i said character sheets, i simply meant creating a background for my character in accordance with the story of the game. I wouldnt want to write something that goes against it.
