[Guild] Hydlaa Mining Company
« on: April 06, 2006, 12:53:55 am »
Purpose: To provide the large guilds and organizations of Yliakum with raw materials and custom crafted weapons and armor.

Ranks:
1.Apprentice- These members need to pick a profession and learn the basics in that skill.
2.Artisan- These members are skilled in making jewelry, sword hilts and other accessories. A member of this rank needs to make the company 5000 tria weekly
3.Smith- These members are skilled in making weapons and armor from raw materials. A member of this rank needs to make the company 5000 tria weekly.
4.Miner- These are the gatherers of the company. The main income lies in their hands. Members of this rank need to make the guild 6000 tria weekly.
5.Master Artisan- These are expert jewlry and accessory crafters who have made great profit to the company. They must make 12,000 tria weekly, and supervise all artisans below them. 9can also make deals and deliveries.)
6.Master Smith- These are expert armor and weapon smiths who have made great profit to the company. They must make 15,000 tria weekly. They supervise anyone under them who is also a smith. (Can make deals and deliveries)
7.Master Miner- These are expert miners who have made great profit to the company. They must make 17,000 tria weekly and supervise all other miners bellow them.(can make deals and deliveries)
8. Contractor- These members do very little physical work. their job consists of finding new orders, overseeing the work, and planning deliveries/payment.
9.GrandMaster- The GrandMaster is the essential merchant of the company who?s job is to keep the companies profits high and create trade networks through alliances.

Rules:
1. Never make large business deals concerning the company without consulting the grandmaster and/or a master of any of the three crafts.
2. Stay in character as often as possibe.
3. Please don\'t be rude to anyone
4. Follow all PS rules and any rules of conduct made by the community.
5. Work work work! >.<
6. have fun \\o/

Goals: To provide the Yliakum communities with an abundant supply of raw materials and other items and create strong trade networks, boosting the communities economy.

Payment: payment will be simple. All things mined/smithed/crafted during a certain week are given to the GrandMaster and he/she will sell them at appropriate prices. The income of this will be divided between however many workers, as long as the individual workers all made their ranks minimum amount of tria. If they did not they will be suspended from the weeks pay. The suspended pay will go to the Hydlaa Mining Company funds.

Trade: the trading will be simple. Our goods and materials are open to all who are willing to pay the tria. Our larger customers (guilds organizations etc.) will be allied with us, creating cemented trade networks that will keep the economy healthy. These customers also get lower prices if they buy in bulk.

History: The Hydlaa Mining Company was first thought up by a young dwarf named Golarim during a long period in the dungeons mining diamonds. It was formed soon after and has begun to prosper since.

Founders: Golarim - Ideas, recruitment, advertising etc.

Proglin- Initial funds for the company

(Now there\'s one problem with History..some of our supporters left last second and we can\'t create the guild yet, so if
a) you are a miner, smithy, or any craftsperson
b) have basic knowledge of the craft,
c) know how to RP
and
d) are active
Please give me a PM!

Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Wow, a guild that is actually... a guild!

Best of luck to you guys :D

You might want to re-think the basics behind the economic rules of progression though.  First, you might find it hard to measure things accurately until costs for crafted items have settled.  Second, intra-guild trade will possibly be a factor (i.e. one guy makes iron bars and gives them to someone else who makes sword hilts etc.)  Third, having *all* sales go through one person might be a bit of a bottleneck.  I\'d at least designate a couple people responsible for taking orders and making deliveries.

dfryer: yeah, I was thinking about making the \"masters\" be able to trade large quantities of items as well. The intra-guild trading thing will take thinking though.

Shorty/karyuu: Yeah, tell me about it.

And yes, the first real guild if we look at the technical definition. Except one problem, it isn\'t made yet :P it seems a Kran anmed Grubba is the only one patient enough to remain a follower. So if you\'re interested, PM me! Or if you want to just have an alt join so the guild can get on its feet..that works too.

I\'ll be ingame in two hours from the time I made this post. About 8:00 PST.

A great idea, and one i will support to my fullest capabilities. Hopefully, we, and many other guilds, will work out a good trading policy. I look forward to seeing this idea grow in popularity..

Congratulations Golarim, on your new found idea. This posting says it all. You put time and thought into this and produced well structured guild and responsible rules. You have created great benefits too. Great job, and good luck to you.

/me bows respectfully

Alrighty..me being the businessman I am (spelling on that? :P) I\'ve come up with a bit of a deal for the guilds who have decided to support me,even partialy.

I would ask The Dragon Council, The Way of the Hammer, The Community of Vaalnor, and The Survivors of Berne to each donate one member to my company so that we may have enough of a workforce to get on our feet. Of cource, in return, I have propositions for all of you,

Dragon Council - Any amount of tria you want.

The Way of the Hammer - Proglin, I will not only provide the prize for your next tournament, I will host the next three.

Community of Vaalnor - 50,000 tria worth of free ores and gems.

Survivors of berne - A small stock of weapons and armor.

The payments will be given when we return your member. Your members will not be held in thecompany for more than a week..in the worst case 12 days.

If you could please each answer my proposition as soon as possible.

Farewell,
Golarim.
[As you can see, it\'s gettin desperate to get this thing going, and there is a HUGE lack of interest right now.]

Question, question :D

Is this a sort of.. well, \"guild\" guild that members must be part of and part of only, or is it more of an organization that may welcome workers from other guilds as well, whether temporarily right now or more permanently later on?

answer, answer??

I plan to have it have members as of now...When our stockpiles etc. grow, we will start hiring people from the outside with wages and stuff..kinda complex, can\'t really explain it all.

EDIT: yeah, I\'ve decided to slow down and just take on a few other projects as well until I get three more people willing to support this.

You can count on the Community of Vaalnor\'s support, like I said in private before.  However I\'d like to talk about the price. while 50,000 trias in raw materials and gems is a very gracious offer I think that you will need your mining output to grow, especially in those early weeks. Also that is a whole lot of ore to transport and store. Therefor I suggest the following price, the Hydlaa Mining Company will form an alliance with the Community of Vaalnor and provide us with large quantities of cheap resources. We will pay you so you benefit and we have all the resources we need to sell or to craft with. As a part of the community there is only one \'rule\': \"We take care of our own.\"

In return our Giorn Kleaver will join you, possibly as a permanent member. He is our most capable Stonebreaker miner with quite a bit of experience in the mines of Hydlaa.

What do you think?

I have thought of creating a guild like this many times before, but I always knew I wouldn\'t have enough time for that. So I\'m very glad someone had the effort to do this.

Nice work on the guild overall, but it still needs some organizing. In mining there could be separate departments of managers, miners and those who run the logistics (transportation, storing, trading). Transporting of the minerals could easily be done by subcontractors in the beginning.

As said, this really boosts the economy. And it was truly a nice idea of renting manpower from different guilds to get your guild build up.

I\'ll look if I\'ll have time to join/support your guild after I finish my studies for this spring.

Oh, and I liked the website, the book theme suits fine for a mining guild. Altough, I would give that logo some more style. PM me if you want any help on the website art. \"CV\" :)
