Zan, I\'ll happily take in Giorn. Rioth of the Dragon Council has also agreed to ask around in his guild.

Clayzekiel: The logo was somethin cheap I got off google :P And I\'d love to have you join our now rapidly growing workforce. the subcontractor thing I\'ve been thinking about...I want to change a current rank to \"contractor\" who deals with the transportation, overseeing of the work, etc. Also, a new logo would be awesone, the example one is really nice work.by the way, the website art I have done absolutely 0 of :P it\'s just some templete, so site help is more than appretiated.

EDIT: The Hydlaa Mining Company was just created!
Launch parteh!!

We are now open to anyone who wishes to join.

Yes Easton and others, the above offers still stand because we only have 2 dedicated miners and none who are fit enough to enter the dungeon. And it is extended to all guilds. You can donate a member for a temporary amount of time, and we will be in debt.

I am also hiring independent miners with wages. You can be part of another guild or freelancing or whatever, as long as you mine you get paid...well.

Looks like you know whats your doing... but it might be tough.  Personally, I would join a guild like this, but many are too greedy.  You do sound consistant which will help.

And how soon will your history be done?

Hmm and I think I may have some time to help you out a bit.

About the greedy part, that\'s exactly why we only have 2 members :P (rest are alts.) Even the lowest ranks have huge responsibility with the issue of keeping their profits to themselves and causing the guild economy to crash. That\'s why I am extremely picky about who enters and when. This is also why I asked established guilds to send members, cause I beleive that they will be more than trustworthy when they have the boss to go back to after the job :)

You\'re more than welcome to help out, since we need all of it.

EDIT: I am in desperate need of a contractor. You just have to figure out a way of \"Taking orders, fulfilling them, sending them back, collecting pay, dividing pay, and finalizing transaction. *gasp*

Well, i have one thing that i need to remind you of.

Patience..

Nothing can kill a good idea quicker than a lack of patience. Especially with the new client, and whatnot, you\'re going to need a lot of patience. But you have a lot of support, so i think you should be alright, but, promise me you\'ll stick with it for as long as you have support. I\'d like to see this idea grow..

Why should I speak, if no one speaks?  Why should I approach, if no one approaches?  Why should I hear, if no one hears?

Interested, but...

I really like the idea of the guild.  I created my character and my background with the intent that he would be a master gem cutter (lapidary) and with the assumption that I would do most of the gathering of materials myself.  A guild that is set up to acquire, process, and distribute the materials is really nice.

There are a few concerns that I have.  First, I wonder if setting a weekly trias quota is necessarily the best way.  While I understand that money is the bottom line for an organization there are some other factors to consider.  For example, Coal sells for 0, so a miner would have no incentive to go after this material, yet it is (or will be) critical for making good steel.  If set with a value of materials to gather each week all your miners would only go for diamond, yet the guild will surely need a variety of materials.

Mining is slow and tedious, what if miners were given a weekly quota of materials to gather based on demand.  That way 50 platinum would equal 50 diamond even if the values do not.

Second, I would be interested in becoming a dedicated member of this guild, it does after all meet the niche that I am aiming for, but my time is somewhat limited.  Do you have room for someone who may only put in an hour a day?  I don\'t want to spend every second of my time online slaving in a mine to meet my quota, this is supposed to be fun after all.

Third, how does this all actually work considering that none of the manufacturing or raw material processing skills work?  I don\'t mean to be rude, but with the structure and flow as described in the initial post it sounds a bit like a pyramid scheme.  I guess I\'m asking for a little more elaboration.

Thanks,
Torkin

hehehe. About the weekly thing..we threw that out the second we started because it wasn\'t practical. We now mine as we get orders. I think that answers the two extremely long paragraphs. About the hour a day or so, taht\'s more than enough. We really moved away from the initial posts stuff and are more of a do it as we go kind of thing. Err..the thingy with the structure and the flow and the other stuff..I am completely lost. heres our new work way:

I get the demands for ores and such and spread it amongst miners. The first to call it get it. Let\'s say I have an order for:
25 gold
25 diamonds.
Bob calls the gold first and Jimmy takes the diamonds first. So I assign them those and take the orders off the list. Once they give me the ores, they get their pay...You can be not as active in this guild, you\'ll just get a few less orders...and a few less tria. Of cource you can only do 1 order at a time, and 2 if we really are in a rush. The weekly thing we threw out. I hardly ever do any of the guilds mining myself, and am more around advertising/trading. And yeah, I think this new system is a bit more practical. Any comments/questions about the new system? Ask!

Technically, this is the \"second\" mining guild around. I had a guild once called \"The Mining Guild\" but it got disbanded due to lack of members. And I never played that character to recruit. =P But, congrats on letting this one live for more than a day. =P

hardly counts as anything if it was around a day.
Talamir - DeT, Dark Empire, etc, etc, etc.
