AMD64 dates: Pre 20060316 failures
« on: April 06, 2006, 07:31:27 pm »
Is anyone having AMD64 problems.  After extensive testing, I\'ve found that I can\'t compile planeshift on any date before March 16th, 2006.  If I compile for any date before that (I did every day back to January 27th before giving up) it fails updating most planeshift clients.  CS compiles right though, and walktest works.  It is only planeshift that fails.  If I build any date from the 16th on I get a sucessful compile with nice binaries that usually work.

Anyone else with this problem? Is it a known issue or is there a known work around.  the netcode is bumped in the 16th version so I can\'t actually compile a version that will play on the server.

From the CVS history
*** 2006-03-15 by Dave Garrett
- Committed changes needed for latest CS.  (also now using winlibs v20)
  CS/CEL/Cal3D date is now:  Mar 15 00:00:00 UTC 2006

From the build guides on CVS
NOTES on Dates:
If you want to use PS client to connect to Laanx you need its code from the 6th of March, CS from the
17th of February and CEL, instead, from the 16th of February.

If you want to use latest PS remember that it is not compatible with Laanx server.
Use PS HEAD and CS/CEL from the 15th of March.

That date is the boundary between requiring different CS/CEL versions.  You need to build with the appropriate dates required for the date of PS you\'re building.

Ahh I was doing a build of everything from that date.
I\'ll give that a shot next thanks.
