I play Martial Heroes How does Planeshift compare?
« on: April 07, 2006, 11:08:04 pm »
I stumbled upon greatness... I love this free MMORPG!!!  MartialHeroes OWns!!!! I don\'t think ill play any other pay to play anymore... hehe... There are soo many helpful players, the storyline is really interesting, and the game design is looks awsome!  I\'ve already met people from all over the world and I never would have thought.. but there are soo many girl players hahahahaa... There are 4 classes of characters: Monk, Mage, Assasin, and Warrior; with 3 different weapons and skills to use... You choose between 2 factions Evil or Lawful and monthly there is a huge war where everyone in game goes all out and tries to destory each other... haha... Also, every 2 weeks there is a Guild War and the GMs are actively making new events and upgrading game... hehe well thats enough gotta go play more have a great day.. hope to see u in-game ^^

lol before i forget... this is the website: www.MartialHeroes.com also, just register and download game really easy... totally FREEE!! hahaha

Look its great ^^

EDIT:

I removed my original \"non-harsh\" reply because the topic starter was most likely just spamming and advertising (badly) rather than asking for a fair comparison. :)

/me gets dizzy by looking at all those labels
I played a couple of games like that where all you do all day is hunt for more items, more powa\' and step on everybody to get to your goal. Untill... well, untill you get almost all you wanted and then, suddenly you decide to quit the game because it is no fun anymore.

I never would have tought neither... Amazing to find people from all over the world in a MMORPG ^_^
Hehe, that\'s common in all MMOs.

Anyway, all jokes aside, i think this is a (not so good) atempt to promote a game on another\'s game forums.

I would also not be so blind as to believe that there are many \"girl players\" just by what gender someone picks in the game. Chances are, that cute girl you see in the game is actually a big hairy trucker from Texas. :D

The biggest problem with games like that is that being free is only an illusion. They all hope to make money somehow. In this case it\'s the \"Items Shop\". What happens is that people power-level all day long and then head for PvP. But oops, someone in PvP has paid for a unique and powerful armor+weapon setup with real money, and they \"PWN\" you. So, you complain that they have an advantage or end up paying for a better setup yourself.

And that\'s how they suck the money out of the players. But to be fair, it is free otherwise. However, those games also have a rampant cheating going on. There are specific known cheat programs written for games like \"Knight Online\", \"Martial Heros\", \"Silkroad Online\" and many others. And unfortunately, their developers are extremely slow to do anything about it.

Yet another problem is that most of them are asian oriented. I have nothing against asian culture, it\'s very beautiful but you have to mix it up a little, considering that the \"whole world\" might play.

Bad idea to \"advertise\" a game in General Discussion. Moved to Hydlaa Plaza... unless you\'re actually going to start a real comparison between that game and PS, which I just don\'t see happening.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Blame Karyuu, she asked for the comparison. :)

First off, MartialHeroes sucks, and planeshift rocks..that being said...

Planeshift is a unique, open world, left for the player to explore and enjoy at his/her own pace. While fighting is a part of the game, it is usually a leisure activity and replaced by incredible levels of socializing, making for a tight knit community of dedicated players.

Martialheroes looks like (JUST like :P) That Kay or Kai or whatever online..and conquer online..and mu online..and all those god damned online games. COME ON we get that it\'s online! Don\'t put it in the title!!!! Oh and knight online...
You lvl, get more special moves, weps, armor, powa, and soon.,..

WORLD DOMINATION

bwahaha, bwahaha, bwahahahahahahahahah *goess off laughing*
bye bye
(Oh and hi Karyuu, time for me to follow you around the forums turing serious situations into circuses..again. Oh the good times...)

Good ideea to move this thread.

Hehe, by looking at the screenshots i can see some really \"nice\" names like Ric3r, Ahb00, Fantasy99,sPideRz... Well, i guess RP must really rock in that game :p

Planeshift has some of its own unique charm, but really, are you saying it\'s not?  You can\'t really get that much variety with MMORPGs....

The other MMORPGs I\'ve played have this thing where you can never look up at the sky.  You\'re suck in this third person perspective where you\'re looking down at your character and the immediate area around it.

okay before bashing another game play it :/
as for comparison in my opinion it depends on what you like it which the better game will be

Both are very well made up games to play. If you are more for the role play of the game planeshift wins by a landslide but if you like the fighting and taking on npcs + other characters mh is much better. The labels in mh can be turned off so that you don\'t have to see stores, names or guild marks. Mh does keep their community active with events and special gifts out to the community. Planeshift has their role play events and some of these are often created by the players themselves. The fighting styles and skills in mh have a big affect for me. These for now are lacking in ps but may improve in the future. Mh is very active with guilds and hold weekly/monthly wars (not sure how often being I don\'t belong to a guild), also guilds get bonuses for all their guild members. In planeshift most of the guilds are role play originated. When it come to finding npcs to talk with planeshift is much more difficult to do this being that none are labeled and they cant direct you to the npc you may want. (for example Harn sells weapons but you wont know that unless you talk with him where as in mh the merchants and such are called grocers but ones for your quests are labeled with names) also all npcs are marked on your map for mh but planeshift you have to look or ask someone as to where one you may need is.
My opinion no game is better because the are two different kinds of games just they land under the same title \"mmorg\". But is role play non-exisent in mh? Actually it does exist it is just hard to find and challenges the players to have to look for it. As for the names in the game and judging rp on that O.o look at their rules and planeshifts.... very big difference.

Well personally judging from the picture\'s it looks a little to flashy for me. I am into what planeshift has to offer and that is Roleplay. From word of mouth I have heard MH does not have a roleplaying community like PS. Plus I don\'t think I have the time between real life and PS. ;) Good luck to those of you who try MH. I know I am perfectly happy here.... though I am beinging to dislike harnquist, he has been getting rather nosey lately! :/

Side Note: I think it is distasteful to advertise in another games forums. (personal opinion)
I've been outside, it's overrated and the graphics suck!
