« on: April 08, 2006, 02:19:51 pm »
I hope, this threat in the right (in game) forum.

If i start Planefish (Version 0.3.013), i get the following massages:

Code: [Select]
crystalsspace.SndSys.driver.software.oss: Sound System: OSS Driver: Failed top open output device [/dev/dsp].
Code: [Select]
crystalspace.sndsys.renderer.software: Sound System: SoundDriver->Open() failed!

And at the top of page:
Code: [Select]
Indirect rendering may indicate a flawed OpenGL setup if you run on a local X server.

If i start it in the console, i get this massages:
Code: [Select]
DEBUG: Sound System: Software Renderer Initializing..
DEBUG: Sound System: Configured for driver [crystalspace.sndsys.software.driver.oss]
Sound System: OSS driver for software sound renderer initialized.
Xlib:  extension \"XFree86-DRI\" missing on display \":0.0\".

planeshift.application.client:
  PlaneShift Crystal Blue
This game uses Crystal Space Engine created by Jorrit and others
  0.99 r0 [Unix-x86-GCC]
All LOGS are off.
Mounting skin: /this/art/skins/default.zip

  psEngine initialized.
Using fontsize 16 for resolution 1024x768
psEngine destroyed.

I have used the fglrx Driver vor my ATI Radeon 9700pro, many games (Diablo and Warsow) have good performance.
But many things like screensaver(original!), are very low performance.
Now i have used the original ATI Driver, but there aren\'t any Difference.

My sytem:
Pentium 4 1,3Ghz
640 Rambus
Ati Radeon 9700Pro
Ubuntu Linux

I have found a lot of threads like this one, but in nobody i can find a answer about that problem. :(
Maybe, i come from Germany and can\'t understand english realy well.
What can i do?

Hi,

You might want to start with posting in the linux forum as this seems to be a linux issue. You also might want to check ati\'s website and see if you can install the new drivers for your graphics card that should fix your problem.

Hi,

Then all i would have to say is you must not have installed them correctly. I have an ati graphics card and had to go though a long process to install them. I would suggest moving this thread to the linux forum and asking for help there as i am new to linux and probably cant give you much more help then this.
