Well, i have been trying to set up a descent PS related site for awhile now. But the problem is, I can never get the time to make good guides.

So what im after is, anyone who wants to make a guide for anything to do with planeshift  eg.
* Mining
* Ideal combat zones
etc..

To send me a pm.

Hopefully i will be able to get this site up and running.

Planeshift is all about Roleplay, if newcomers can just hop on to your site to check how and where to do all that there is in-game or they wouldn\'t have to ask other players.

In the forums, you will see lots of \"ask in-game\", \"please don\'t post spoilers\", this is to encourage in-game communication and a community spirit.

When I first started playing PS, I had the same view as you....\"Where are all the sites that tell me what and how to do things \". but believe me, yo uare better off without them.

Orrr ... why don\'t we make a bunch of roleplaying guide?

How to RP a miner?
How to RP a hunter?
How to RP a mage?
...

Instead of simply telling the best mining locations we can make it mainly about roleplaying and reserve a small section for actual helpful information. The guides could be in the form of an old experienced character teaching how s/he used to do it. They\'d be more in a story form probably.

I\'m willing to give writing such a RP guide a shot, by the way. Since I\'m not natively english and not a great writer it\'s probably handy if someone reviewed it though.

The results would be similar to what you get when you ask a good roleplayer something in-game.

A brilliant idea Zan, I would be more than happy to assist you in such a venture.

But we are still creating a system where we are taking RP chat out of the game and replacing it with type.

If we don\'t post such spoilers, new characters will have no choice but to RP ask in-game. As i said previously, when I first started I would have preferred to sit and read about how and why, because that was what I was used to in the past, and your first steps as an RP\'er are quite nervous wobbly ones. If I had been able to read it all, my RP expertise would be even worse than it is now.

After saying all that, I do like your idea. If there is something we could to to compromise, and still make it interesting and worthwhile reading, count me in.

How about you give eplems of a sullation that frist use none Roly Playing, and then you Role Play it.

Giveing expelms helps some people.

Erm, a guide to mining would be a good idea. In real life it\'s as simple as pounding rocks with a pickax. In PlaneShift... dunno, haven\'t figured it out yet.

`hmm lets see a guide to mine... well there is already a book laying around at harnquist and thats ingame. Do think there still should be one in akkaio ofcourse but a website for something like that I don\'t think is in the spirit of planeshift.

However I see things like this being talked about OOC mostly so think a roleplaying guide to mining as suggested in this thread is a good idea. Specialy so the new players get more of a feel of what PS is really about.

Been working on this issue myself and I have be trying to develop a roleplaying guide for the guild members (Newbies). I thought of this in hopes to help the newbies in the guild to learn how to roleplay. Though this is not an easy task. And the time!!!! Takes so much time..... *Zorbels tries to copy paste herself*

rp guide: first clearly seperate ooc and ic, then give good tips about how to rp and how to use ooc stuff as ic...

Mining guide i think he ment the command /dig *mineral* as there were only one, like you were mining for silver (which doesn\'t excist in Yliakum) /dig silvers is wrong /dig silver is correct

There is a guide to RP in Hydlaa Plaza - if anyone wants to update it or incorporate it into their own versions, I think you\'d be free to. Frankly I would really love to have a useful Guide to Roleplay stickied in the Newbie Help section :)
