not working
« on: April 11, 2006, 10:04:38 am »
i started my new Planeshift version 0.3.014 it just came up with save diagnostic file. it\'s never done that before on the previous server which is a bit of a bummer. but i\'m also so eager to play the game since i\'m so addicted to it and i like it.
please tell me soon what the problem is. thanks

Probably you were in Ojaroad, and there\'s a problem when it comes to load that region with this release.
A bugfix release is planned to happen soon, so stay tuned.
Sidenote: The server hasn\'t changed, it\'s still the same as in version .13, well with new server sofware version but the same machine after all ;)

EDIT:

Adding a direct download for a Ojaroad file that sorts the crash, following the instructions in the next post to this one.

http://rapidshare.de/files/17725319/ojaroad01.zip.html

EDIT 2:

Hope the file is working :P
Get the file and replace the one you\'ve in program files/planeshift crystal blue/art/world

Adding another mirror. I found a free hosting for files up to 500 MB, rapidshare doesn\'t set a maximum number of downloads per file, but perhaps the servers were filled when people attempted to access the file (wait the specified time, select \"Don\'t want a premium (...) free download links\" after waiting a bit, select a mirror for the download to start)

Here is a fix for the problem when loading map ojaroad.
Submited by Dfryer:

1 Open your /planeshift/Art/World directory and unzip the file ojaroad01.zip.

2 Open the file named \"world\" (without any extension) with a text editor and find the line:

.

3 Cut that string but be carefull not to cut the  tag too and then find the lines:

crystalspace.terraformer.simple.loader
 simpleojaroad_heightmap_256.gif

4 Paste the line you\'ve cut before after:

so the segment will look like:

crystalspace.terraformer.simple.loader
 simpleojaroad_heightmap_256.gif

5  Rezip the whole thing and then overwrite the file ojaroad01.zip with the new archive.
Be carefull not to rezip the whole directory if you put the files in one.

6  Launch the client and enjoy ;)

Any chance of more/better hosting for the file? It\'s not accessible due to max downloads or something.

Sounds like it would be easier to just edit the file, really.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

The NPC\'s are still in the sector Ojaroad1.
For some reason they are spawned 768m below they\'re
original place, so no one can fight them for the moment.

I reported the problem already and spoke with a member of the developers.
The developer would talk about it with the rest of the
rest of the developingteam.
Greetings,

Tarel Barilele

Thanks for the link , it worked a treat.

On a different issue.

I was happy to read the memory leaks in the sound were resolved but now find the sound distorted and barely audible.

The only reason i didn\'t post a file here is because posting a modifyed file is somehow a violation of the PS licence. And yes, all the NPCs are below the map, or beter to say, the map had the wrong coordinates i think floating above the NPCs. We hope it will be fixed untill the time of the new release.
