Something unexpected?
« on: April 18, 2006, 01:35:36 am »
I\'ve looked through a few threads and cannot seem to get an answer that works, so I will ask myself:

I am on the newest updated version of PS and can easily connect with the server and load my character. My problem is after that, while in the process of loading. Everything looks like it\'s going smoothly, then I suddenly get the \"something unexpected...\" line and watch my program promptly shut down. I have tried running my updater, but it hasn\'t helped. Any ideas?

Hiya :)

I\'m sure there is more to that message than those two words - and knowing the rest of it will help us determine what the problem may be. We have a Crashes and Diagnostic Files thread that lists the currently known access violations and any solutions if they apply, so if you get a number along with your error report, try seeing if it matches to any in that thread and if information is available about what you can do to fix the issue. If you\'re getting an access violation but you don\'t see your number listed, follow the instructions AryHann posted and email her the dump file saved through the crash.

At least I believe this is what is happening, since we\'ve never had a \"Something unexpected...\" message appear on its own.

Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
