The other forum was prettier.
« on: April 24, 2006, 01:04:16 am »
Is there a way to have the look of the old forum when surfing the new one?

Since we've changed the forum software, we cannot just migrate the theme as well. A new one is in the works and should be available in some time.

It's too bad, everything is different and so much harder to read. I like the smilies, i guess, but they don't feel the same. : /

Ooh, and a spell checker!

It'll take some time to adjust to, aye. But there are a lot more features to play around with too :) Wait for a more PS-related theme, and then your forum experience will be much more pleasant again.

I don't know, I kinda like the new look.  It's fresh looking.  I do miss the smurf smilies.  So many new buttons to play with. :-3

Oh! and spell check!  Yay.  no more worrying about super bad grammer due to bad typing skills.

I just HATE these new forums! It's even harder to navigate than before, and this metalic skin they have is just an eyesore. Is there some way you guys can rip the skin off the old forum and stick it here (the brown one) because this is just blinding!

Patience, Suno :) Please understand that we had no choice when moving the forum - it had to be done, and we chose this new software because our old was really old, enough to no longer provide any support at all. SMF has a ton of benefits, it'll just take a while to get used to. Please bear with us as best as you can right now.

We would like to improve the overall skin of the forums, making it more PlaneShift-like and also change those terrible smileys Smiley
Just wait few days before posting tons of requests for forums.

Uh, as far as navigation goes, I don't see what's so different about it.

Yes patience. This is looking to be a bada** forum. Every step I take, I find a new feature. Plus the font options alone are mindblowingly simple.

Meh.  I like it when things are simple.

However, I do like that it warns you if a new post has been made to a thread you're about to contribute to.

Although our forums are so quiet, it's pretty much useless.  :-X

Hahah! Are you kidding? I'm finding that priceless right now :P Plus I saw way too many "D'oh! So-and-so got to it before me..." on our last forums. This is neat.

I'm warning you now, anyone who abuses the marquee repeatedly is in for a world of pain ;D
