New Experiences

Hello all! I'm new to PS but not to the MMORPG world. I started my PS experience about a week ago and have since really enjoyed myself. There are some issues that quite honestly need to be adressed. Chiefly among those is direction for new players. Don't get me wrong. I think the guide is an outstanding start, but there is no description of what several things do or encompass.

Skills:

In most documentation you will find briefs detailing what skills are and how they function. This is not the case here. I spent the first few days acquainting myself with the various skills available and what they could do for me. Not very easy to make a difinative decision on the direction I wish to take my character in.

Magic:

Interesting magic system. Still having difficulty understanding how it works. The documentation is a bit vague here as well.

Aside from that, the environment is great aside from tweaks and fixes that need to be implemented. I do look forward to the Mac client being ramped up and on par with the Windows client.

Thanks to the developers for all their hard work in making a rather enjoyable game.

there isn't much to skills right now. aside from the 4 combat, 1 defensive, 6 magic, and the 2 job skills. unless i've missed a few. there really isn't much compexity to them... for the moment.

magic isn't that much more complex. mostly it is a beads on a string concept.

Hello, and welcome to PlaneShift and its community! :}

Our guide is quite outdated unfortunately, and we will definitely need to redo it in some time. We just have to find that time, and someone to do it - all of the team is currently really busy with working on new content. There are is a small guide and FAQ in this Newbie Help section however that may address skills a little more, and you are always welcome to ask questions on the forums and in-game - this is an MMO afterall, and interaction is key :}
