Game wont load after updates

Basically the problem is this;

The opening graphic starts fine, the game loads...then the sign in screen comes up fine..my information is still there ( I recently moved so was gone for a few weeks) but once I click :ok: I get the " Dun" sound of doom..the screen flickers then goes black save for the yellow arrow.. I get a window saying;

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 077884CC

I had a good game starting to go; does anyone know what exactly is wrong?

Looks like you're going to have to save the dump file and email it to Ary :} Check this thread for further detail, and hope it gets taken care of quick.

Can you mentioned when you've updated, and what version of the updater you have now?

I tried today on an older version updater..same problem, now with the 1.1.1.1 updater it stops, saying the server is too old for the updater

Ah, then the problem is much simpler, and easier to fix :} Find a file called "version.dat" in your main PlaneShift directory, delete it, then run the updater again and things should work.

All the servers currently have the same version.dat, so my guess is at some point a weird (newer?) one got up one one server and anyone who updated from that one is getting this issue.

I have got emails of people having similar problems. Seems the updater is going a bit crazy for several reasons :-(

However, I have extracted the data from the dump file and it is basically not helping at all :-) I hope somebody that might have similar updater issues will find it useful!
