A Fair! - The Shadow is gone!

The Shadow in the Hills is spreading. If it is not stopped there will be an invasion from within the walls of Hydlaa herself. We must act before this can happen. We must cut the Shadow off at it's source.

[22:00GMT, Saturday May 20], A specialized party will attempt to descend into the Stone Face, to enter the Underdark. From there they will attempt to find and close the dark portal which leaks darkness into our realm from the Valley of the Stone Face.



However, resistance is inevitable. The Shadow has already begun calling dark forces to it's aid. An Army is being assembled, to clear a path through the enemy for the party to reach and enter the Stone Face. The battle will take place in the Valley of the Face.

You, free people of the community, must decide which side you are on, and stand to defend the Light, or fight for the will of the Shadow.

Waste

Ducts that have been dug out in the rock are used to dispose of human waste. Larger rubbish and bodies are simply thrown into almost vertical and apparently endless wells. Nobody seems to care about where all of this junk finally ends up, since the stalactite theory is only devised by some Xacha scientists and has not been proven yet. Dead bodies are eliminated the same way. Though discarding dead in such a callous fashion would seem rather shocking, neither of the two main faiths at Yliakum requires particular care nor reverence to dead bodies. To the people here, a body is simply a non-functional apparatus or an empty shell with no soul. However, nothing is ever thrown into the lake. The law forbids this disposal method not only out of courtesy to the Nolthrirs, but also to protect the seaweed population. Polluting the lake is one of the few crimes punished with death.

No More Shadow Celebration

To celebrate the success of the Party to the underdark, the averted invasion, and the continued life of Hydlaa, we will have a fair in Hydlaa Plaza.

Bring your mugs and your pets and your best fireworks (show off sparkly spells) to the Hydlaa Plaza around the Fountain. Everybody to run around and drink and cheer for the peace we can all enjoy again! Bring your cameras!
