A Way to Remap Command Buffer in Chat?

  Is there a way to remap (or just disable if not) the command buffer in the chat window? 

I regularly repeat myself because I press enter to go into chat, then attempt to move with the keyboard, and repeat a previous command.

I'm used to other MMORPG interfaces where you can move your char using the keyboard while in chat...  Even if you can't do that, it's too easy to accidentally spam with the default keymapping...

I'd be happier with a function key or requiring a mouse click to cycle through previous commands.

You can go to options and click keyboard under controls, and change the  toggle chat option so that it is no longer enter.

Not quite what I'm looking for, but a slight improvement.  I'd like to remap Up and Down from cycling the command history.

It's not getting into chat too easily -- it's too easy to repeat a command while in chat...

There's no way to remap the chat history cycling.  It's up and down, and we use WADS for movement.  It's not like you can effectively move while typing, anyway.  What you should do is turn on auto-walk and type then.

I was having trouble with this too- it is because the chat control buttons are also being used for movement, depending on that tricky "chat toggle." Using W-A-D-S for movement has the same issue- I'd accidentlly be saying "www" when I didn't mean to. 

I have just now remapped my movment keys to one that are never used in chat (Home-Del-End-Pg Down], and moved the camera Look Up/Down commands to Insert  and Pg Up - hopefully I this will work better and save me some goofs! 

Ideally, there would be a part of the keyboard reserved for movement alone...

im pretty sure either pogo/stfrn made chat aliases at some point, /g for guild for example... not sure what happened with them
