Thank you so much for recording and cutting and uploading the creation of that piece.

Working in GIMP I tend to use many more layers. (my wall texture, for example, has like 30 layers  :o )

*now wonders if that recording is a response to the "..you make drawing look so easy..".. to prove the contrary*

Being a person that cannot draw a straight line with a ruler I am so impressed with your talent. You did such a great job that the last picture brought tears to my eyes for all the ones I miss. You should put it in the R.I.P. section also. Great job Cherppow!!

Hey,

thanks for the comments.

Eliseth: Hehe. I find it funny that someone might find it fascinating. Personally I almost fell asleep when watching them through for QA. Well, it was quite late here too. Anyway I was sure no one would watch them, so thanks for your interest. :)

Arerano: Thanks for watching. :) I guess the number of layers are a personal preference. On some more complex works I've used up to maybe 10, but generally I seldom go beyond 5. I think the video proves the "raw reality" of it. I don't have any magic touch that'll make every line look good. Instead I erase and paint again until the result satisfies me enough. This pic was still quite simple, so it took "only" an hour. But it's not uncommon to take ten or more, if you really want to give it your best. Those are pretty hard to record though. :)

Mathy Stockington: Aww, thanks. Then you know how I feel too. Hmm, when I was a kid, I had this friend, an old man. Although he was so old that his hands were constantly shaking, he kept on painting, like he had for God knows how many years. And although he surely couldn't paint a straight line, his landscapes were amazing. I still have some of his works, and they still inspire me, although he passed on many years ago. His name was Jussi.

Lolitra, Celorrim Purrty Twins: :) *almost blushes* Glad you liked it.

*edit*

The post looks too blank without a picture. :) Besides, I want to show that I didn't come here to grief over the past. So... as old people leave, new come along.

A perfect opportunity to meet new friends, as Cherppow Greywood well knows. :P

And to say hi to old acquaintances... :D

Catch you later,
 - Cherps

Cherppow

It never ceases to amaze me how much the people who I have met in this game have become so much a part of my real life and how much we all grew to care for each other. I very much enjoy your talent and I hope you will continue to show us your wonderful drawings. May Jussi rest in peace and be blessed because he inspired you enough to share your amazing gift with us. Thank you.

for some reason when I saw that I thought of Tuxide and what rediculuse things he probably did when he was new.
And it makes me giggle  \\o//

Greetings,

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Mathy - Aye, I've made some friends here too. In the net it's easy to forget that behind nicknames are real people with real feelings. Some say that net is a different world, but I don't believe so. Just as a phone call isn't a different world. The things done and said here affect people even after they shut their computers or close their phones. So I treat people here as I would treat anyone I meet outside. :)

Lolitra - You're so sweet. *gives Lolitra a big bear hug* I hope you don't mind me stealing your phrase. :)

Anumesa - Thank you. I'm pleased that you liked them... and that I didn't offend anyone. :) Good luck with the studies.

Baldur - *googles cooties* o.O Cooties! Mr. Greywood: "Oh no! I'm going to DIE!". Me: "Oh, I don't mind.". See below though. :P

Lolitra (again) -  Pst! I think Baldur there could use some brightening up too.

Lilura - Why, Mr. Tuxide seems like a pretty reasonable guy... maybe a little on the shy side? :)

*edit*

Continuing Mr. Greywoods "new again" theme:

Leveling is dull by itself, try learning some crafting!

...perhaps join one of the many guilds! (feat. The BMH)

*edit 2*

Time to scare the female readers away. :P When I first started this thread with few sketchy images of a traveller, someone asked if he was Cherppow without the plate mail. That was not the case however. The traveller was/is Cherppow Greywood, who has now grown a beard and has been appearing in the comics here. However, I've been thinking about the question... what would the original Cherppow look if he ever took off his battle gear...

No one has seen him without the full plate mail, and it is anyone's guess what he really looks like. Here's mine. :)

"the hundreds, or maybe thousands, of battles must have taken some toll on him."

Be seeing you,
 - Cherps

Looks like he took off a layer too much  ;D

I always have to chuckle reading that MOTD...
..I mean.. in order to craft you still have to level. It's really a paradox.
