GMs don't moderate the forums :} I'm the only one who has multiple jobs like that. Nor do I quite understand what you will want to have merged with what.. but that's okay.
Also, why would you want the PlaneShift team to spend their time and effort on another new game entirely when PS itself is at such an early stage? That's wasting resources.
Though I do like the general thread idea, of just throwing out game design concepts to stimulate discussion. Were I ever in control of a game project, which I clearly will never be due to the following, I would have a billion million character customization options. Well, maybe many hundreds that would fool people into thinking the possibilities are endless. And maybe the possibilities will be endless! All I need is a hostage art team that would continuously produce models and textures for a period of five years, or more if they are willing and/or have no choice.
It would have a lot of different environments, from glacial deserts to seas of sand. And the maps would be huge! They would take real days to walk through. Maybe even weeks. Though of course there would be options besides walking, if you're not into the whole scenic route thing. NPC behaviour would be superb - interacting with other NPCs, with players, with environmental and atmospheric changes. Maybe even have night and day reveal completely different worlds.
Races? Dozens. Hundreds. Varieties to make you crazy. Remember that hostage art team? They're working hard.
People would get the chance to try out commands and the general air of the game in a sort of "newbie island," stunning in its own way, but once they get to the "mainland" they would have to agree to roleplay as much as possible.
I think a combination of sci-fi and fantasy, like Ryzom for example, would be ideal.
Now pardon me while I click the "fantastic 3d art" button on my computer and churn out a couple fantastic 3d artworks :}
