I contacted my friend Erik (who is currently an environment artist working on the commercial mmorpg Spellborn -
www.tcos.com) and asked him if he'd be willing to judge this 3rd challenge. Because of this, this compo will be a bit different. If you think that's a bad thing, this was all Erik's idea, if you think that's a good thing, then this was all my idea.

Anyway, I'm grateful he's offered to judge this, and I hope you guys take this opportunity to learn as much as possible from someone who does this for a living.
Challenge 3Objective: With all the new guilds popping up in PS, many guild halls are being built (or will be, whenever the devs implement that

). These halls each need an ornate, yet official looking door at the main entrance of each hall. Use the supplied door model, and create a 512* texture for the guild of your choice (existing or made-up). Textures should be interesting, creative, extremely detailed, and extremely believable. The supplied door link can be found below, along with some highly, highly recommended reading/examples to aid you in your texture. Erik and I are each making a texture for this compo too (just for fun), and Erik has graciously offered to make a tutorial outlining how he is making his. It's not complete yet, but if you want to take your own door texture as far as you can follow the tut, and then post the results, we would be glad to give some feedback (post either in this thread, or in an clearly labeled WIP thread).
