Xylaal lays in the grass starring at the great crystal in the sky. The spell that Drahlian put on her was broken. She is once again in the Guardians of Power. Her new armor is still a bit uncomfortable; she burned her bloodstained armor in honor of those fallen Dwarves she had slain. She is grateful for the big hearts of Indygo, Proglin, Ganinos and all whom have forgiven her yet she hasn't quite forgiven herself. As the war rages on in the distance, she can only hope that the soul of this level that she loves so much will survive.

[I had a blast....I think everyone did....thanks Drahlian  ;D]

The horrible beating of Beanius
« Reply #18 on: June 10, 2006, 12:14:09 am »
War update:

The war seemed to be cooling down a bit, but then the dwarves commited a travesty, renewing our anger and hatred of their kind. Below I have written an account of what happened yesterday, in front of Harnquist's blacksmith shop, in a safe zone! Four dwarves assaulted poor, innocent Beanius, tied him to a tree, and continued to humiliate and beat him mercilessly! I was not there, otherwise much dwarf blood would have been spilt, but I have composed a description of the events based on what I was told by a number of witnesses, including the honorable Harnquist [Beanius sent me his chat logs].

It sounds as if it started with a small dwarf spit on Beanius. Beanius responded by challenging him to a duel, then proceeding to beat the dwarf senseless for several minutes with his bare hands. Apparently he kept the dwarf on the brink of death for a very, very long time, slapping him and striking him to a bloody pulp, and periodically shooting magical arrows into the dwarf's limbs to keep him from escaping, and many others were required to continually cast healing spells to keep the dwarf from dying. This was a duel both agreed upon, and as I see it, Beanius gave the dwarf a fitting punishment for an insult.

Apparently some dwarves who witnessed this honorable duel felt Beanius went a tad bit too far, and decided to break war agreements and assaulted the poor elf. The offending Dwarven Star dwarves were Indygo, Kimhari, Einnol and Deek. They attacked him together, overcame him with some difficulty, then tied him to a tree and gagged him. Then they proceeded to humiliate him, beat him and strike him with fish and rotten meat. He was finally rescued by the brave and honorable enki known as Eid.

Below is the account of what happened, if anyone is interested in the details.
Note: Harlohim was an innocent bystander.

[ OOC: I wish I had been there to see it, it sounds like some good RP took place. :) ]

-Drahlian

(19:37:16) Harlohim says: hmm, perhaps they can smell their "pack mates"
(19:37:27) Beanius says: Ah... yes.
(19:37:30) Beanius says: That must be it!
(19:37:40) Beanius says: The blood of their litter is all over my armor.
(19:37:54) Beanius frowns. "That explains it completely."
(19:38:03) Beanius says: Maybe I should go wash up.
(19:38:16) Kimhari looks at Harlohim and smiles "Brave words from someone not brave enough to join the war"
(19:38:20) Indygo throws a pebble at Beanius and laughts
(19:38:31) Harlohim says: well it got him away did it not
(19:38:38) Beanius picks up the pebble and throws it back.
(19:39:09) Harlohim looks around... "perhaps not"
(19:39:18) Beanius says: I'm afraid to run, Harlohim... That will just make their fight instinct kick in.
(19:39:27) Beanius says: Any suggestions?
(19:39:49) Harlohim giggles, perhaps if you just walk away slowly
(19:39:59) Beanius says: Maybe if I tied them up, one by one.
(19:40:09) Beanius says: Then their owner would show up, hopefully.
(19:40:11) Kimhari snarls "Maybe you should try"
(19:40:21) Einnol moves in behind Beanius.
(19:40:21) Indygo goes for the rope on Beanius
(19:40:32) Einnol grabs for his arm.
(19:40:32) Harlohim tells you: or offer them some food to keep them quiet so you can make your escape
(19:40:37) Kimhari grabs Beanius other arm
(19:40:46) Indygo says: Tie him to the Tree!
(19:40:52) Beanius stuggles and struggles...
(19:40:57) Kimhari helps drag Beanoius to the tree
(19:41:16) Einnol grabs his legs.
(19:41:20) Indygo says: Help us Biruno!
(19:41:50) Beanius fianlly breaks free, just barely able to escape from the THREE dwarves.
(19:41:53) Indygo swats at Beanis' daggers.
(19:42:15) Indygo says: Deek!
(19:42:18) Beanius shouts to harlohim. "That was close! I'm glad it was only three. I don't think I could have gotten away from more than three."
(19:42:26) Indygo says: Help us tie Beanius to the tree!
(19:42:38) Kimhari grabs Beanius again
(19:42:39) Beanius says: Wha.. Hey!
(19:42:47) Deek says: only if I can slap him about with this fish I caught
(19:42:48) Kimhari says: Help us Deek!
(19:42:51) Indygo forcefully grabs Beanius and lifts him from his feet.
(19:42:52) Beanius starts to sweat when he sees another dwarf
(19:43:06) Deek says: damn... heavy for a string bean
(19:43:18) Einnol says: Tie his hands.
(19:43:21) Beanius nearly breaks free, then trips over a dwarf behind him, toppling to the ground
(19:43:32) Indygo says: Grab the rope Kim!
(19:43:36) Einnol puts his foot on Beanius
(19:43:38) Kimhari jumps on Beanius and ties his hands and feet
(19:43:40) Einnol says: Stay down.
(19:43:44) Beanius says: Ugh!
(19:43:46) Beanius says: Help!
(19:43:48) Beanius says: Help!
(19:43:52) Indygo says: Lays on Beanius tryin to pin him to the ground
(19:43:55) Beanius says: Harnquist! Help me buddy!
(19:44:07) Einnol says: Get his hands.
(19:44:09) Beanius says: HARNNNNNQUIST!!!!
(19:44:12) Beanius says: Help!
(19:44:16) Einnol says: Tie them behind his back.
(19:44:29) Indygo giggles as they are tying Beaius up!

(19:45:37) Stebin says: I'll help
(19:45:54) Deek says: hehe.... what you dont like to be considered intolerable?
(19:45:59) Indygo climbs up the tree and drops some rope from the branch
(19:46:02) Beanius says: Help!!!!
(19:46:03) Indygo says: Tie him to it!
(19:46:04) Beanius says: Someone help me!
(19:46:12) Beanius says: Harlohim, go for help, please!
(19:46:12) Kimhari ties Beanius to the rope
(19:46:16) Beanius says: Can you get Kergen?
(19:46:18) Einnol says: Tie his feet as well.
(19:46:30) Harlohim shrugs and goes for help
(19:46:31) Indygo hauls Beanius a few feet from the ground and ties it off to the branch
(19:46:33) Stebin tries to hold Benius' feet.
(19:46:33) Beanius says: Ah!
(19:46:35) Harlohim says: I suppose
(19:46:37) Beanius says: My teleport spell!
(19:46:48) Beanius says: I'll just say my magic words and teleport from these ropes!

(19:46:53) Beanius says: Abra...
(19:46:53) Einnol removes his gloves and stuffs one of them in Beanius' mouth.
(19:46:59) Beanius says: Grmph!
(19:47:04) Indygo shimmys down the tree and steps back to watch beanis.

(19:51:13) Indygo shakes his head at Biruno "There will be no killing here."
(19:51:23) Einnol says: Not here.
(19:51:27) Biruno says: lets burn him!... no wait we might hurt the tree
(19:51:46) Deek says: I say back off, let the bugs pester him for a while, that rotten meat is bound to attract some
(19:51:49) Indygo takes out an apple and begins eating it quickly.
(19:51:59) Kimhari watches Indygo

(19:55:34) Einnol chuckles.
(19:56:05) Einnol says: Well done everyone.
(19:56:17) Deek says: so why would an otherwise reasonably intelligent being be in league with such foul ideals?

That beanius, I wonder what he would have done without me. *shakes her head and giggles* [she doesn't understand the reality of war, thinking it's some game that's fun to watch]

[ooc]
HAHAHAHA, that was so much fun. there were a great many monty python refferences (which have since been removed) which added even more. Oh, and to people who may not have known, the first line about smelling "pack mates" was an attempt to explain to beanius why the dwarves were all gathering around him violently in words he would understand.

Zhai's eyes are shut, her voice lost... Her last memory is being tricked by Kergen when she tried one more time to break the spell that holds him in Drahlian's forces... he pretended to remember and she lowered her guard and now everything's a shadow around her, with no air, no space, no hope... only one thought remains as she loses all her senses: "help..."

:'(

[update: 10-12 of june]

After revealing her new self to those who once were her friends, Zhai charges against the dwarves as one of the Dwarvesbane. She's a completely different person now, possessed by an evil spirit called Angadu. She faced Farren Kutter, Master Ranger of the Rangers of Yliakum, Zhai's true guild. They fought at the gate of Ojaveda after the dwarvesbane took control and Farren was defeated. Days after, however, the dark spirit was unveiled by Anfa and him. The spirt fled to the underworld before they could find out more about the whereabouts of the real Zhai. His hatred now is also aimed at Anfa and the Rangers of Yliakum...

OOC:
[An embellishment of the battle between me and Zhai is coming soon]

[and here it is as written by the Master Ranger himself]

Zhai vs. Farren
[Embellishment of the Battle between the Master Ranger and the subverted Ranger Zhai]

Farren Kutter, the Master Ranger, leader of the Rangers of Yliakum, walks up towards the gates of Ojaveda for his monthly visit, a look of slight sorrow on his eyes. One of his best Rangers and friends, Zhai, had been taken and somehow subverted against him by Drahlian. He nears the gates and sees a female Enkidukai. As he draws nearer, he is disheartened with the grim realization of who it is. Standing in the gateway of Ojaveda is Zhai. But she appeared different, darker, wild. Seeing her, the pained Master Ranger stops, mind racing, thinking of what he should do. The once-Ranger enkidukai walks up to him.

"Zhai..." says Farren, lost as to what else to say to the creature in front of him as his former friend looks to him. She wasn't Zhai anymore, not truly. The Ranger he knew did not have eyes filled with darkness such as hers. The subverted Enkidukai readies her blades, an action she had never performed in hostility against a Ranger before. The leader of the Rangers feels a deep pit forming in his stomach. "Zhai, don't do this..." he says. But Zhai just stares at him, blades ready, dark eyes focused. "I can't win. I can't fight my own Ranger. Not full-heartedly." he adds.

Again, the other replies with silence. Resigned to the inevitable outcome of this battle, Farren sighs and says, "But if you are against the dwarves, you are against me." At this, Zhai, in an unrecognizable voice, says "You won't have her back, Farren Kutter." her eyes burning with hatred as she does so. Seeing this, the Master Ranger crouches slightly, his blades out and held in a slightly defensive position. He gives a half-smile and, with a hint of confidence in his voice, but apparent sadness in his eyes, replies, "I think I will... Eventually."

Zhai replies saying, "... Fool...", to which Farren promptly returns to his true personality for an instant, replying with a smile, "A fool only when I was the Jokester of the Guild Knights. I am the Master Ranger. I may not be the greatest physical fighter. But I tend to overcome odds in other aspects." The former Ranger senses something about Farren that threatens, and decides to end the threat before it causes too much trouble. She raises her blades and readies herself to charge at her former leader. Farren lowers himself into a full defensive crouch, ready to counter-attack his former friend. "Will you really attack me?" he asks with a deep sorrow, knowing the answer even as he asked the question. The subverted Enkidukai's answer is silence as she crouches, about to attack.

Zhai lunges forward at the Master Ranger, both swords slicing for him, but he rolls to the side, slashing her lightly with one of his short swords. "Hmm... Well this is a first, fighting my own ranger." he remarks, more to himself than anyone. He rises from the crouch he landed his roll in, and parries the others' blade as it soars in at his chest, bringing his other shortsword up to parry the other as it slashes from the side. Zhai backs off for a few seconds and then charges the ranger, both blades in a semi-defensive position, ready to switch to an attack. as she reaches him, Farren falls backwards, rolling his body back a little and pulling his feet in front of him and catching the former Ranger in the stomach, vaulting her over him to land in a heap on the ground and using the momentum of it to roll backwards to his feet. Taking a lunge forward, he spins to face his old friend.

Zhai gets up and begins her attack on Farren anew. She succeeds in opening a gash on his arm, and then another across his side, attacking furiously. Farren is horrified at how much she has changed. This was not the style of his friend. He takes many more hits, delivering a few blows himself, but not fully able to bring himself to attack the other full out. Weakening from his various wounds, the Master Ranger flees to the Death Realm.

Drahlian runs through the dark forest, ignoring the stings of the branches slapping her face as she crashes through them. Finally she stops, panting heavily, thought more from anger than from fatigue. She allows her anger to fill her, going over her memories of the recent battle.

Somehow the dwarves had prevailed. All her fellow warrior fallen to the blades of the dwarves, though all but one of the dwarves fell as well. For a moment she relishes the memory of felling dwarf after dwarf, particularly the fierce Proglin, who struck down so many of her friends. At the end, only she and the dwarven general, Bodacher, faced each other on the battlefield. Their struggle was fierce, but somehow Bodacher got his blade through just before he fell from his many dagger wounds. This war was over, and not the way she had envisioned.

Then her rage began to build again, as she remembered watching as the strange kran priest passed around his accursed apples. The spells she had worked so hard to cast and to maintain, holding the minds of Kergen, Acka and Dowanger in her control, fell away as they each ate those horrible apples. Curse that kran! Her guild has fallen to pieces as most of her surviving warriors turn on her, her mighty army now in shreds. Only Zhai remains under her spell, but she senses the opposing magic pulling at her hold on the enki's mind.

Drahlian can't help wonder who is still with her. Has Sardit's mind been affected as well? Has his hatred of dwarves diminished, or has it increased like her own? What of Beanius, the childish elf who cannot understand dwarven speech and thinks them animals? Has he survived, and will he stand with her?

She finally puts these worries aside, knowing that soon, it won't matter. Her power, growing everyday from her unmentionable friends from darker worlds, will soon be enough to eliminate the dwarves by herself. Contemplating these things, she slowly starts drawing a pentragram in the soil and starts a low, monotone chant...

[OOC...

Thank you all my Dwarvesbane friends and the Dwarven Star dwarves! I thoroughly enjoyed our war, and I know my guildmates did as well. Our final battles were exciting, and your victory, though only a victory by a tiny margin, was well earned. Also thank you to all those that participated in many RP sessions centered around the war. The war went much better than I dared to hope.

Recovering strength in the underworld after Proglin defeated him with a brilliant performance (for a dwarf anyways), Angadu, the spirit in control of Zhai's body, answers again the call of Mistress Drahlian. "This is just the beginning... Everything will go as planned now...", he tells her.

:woot: I liked every little bit I just read. The stories posted in this thread are well written. I am finally up to date on this war! \o/ Sounds like you are all having a wicked time, and I shall continue to check this thread for new stories posted. Yay to roleplay! It is a shame though, I was just getting to know the "good, not so angry" Zhai, I liked her very much. Though it is also eye opening that even the nicest of us can turn at any moment.  Suspense in a roleplay a wonderful thing!

Anfa stands quietly looking across the open countryside, the memory of Zhai's cries of pain still echoing in her mind. Anfa's hands tighten the grip on her swords as she takes a deep breath to control the pain of knowing Zhai's soul is still trapped and being tormented by the dark spirit within Zhai's body. Anfa looks towards Hydlaa wondering if Farren has yet found a way to free the soul of Zhai and banish the dark spirit? With  one last glance across the seemingly peaceful countryside Anfa heads to Hydlaa to find Farren knowing she can not return to the gathering in the wyldewood until Zhai is free once more.
