Banned for being a BOT??
« on: June 04, 2006, 12:14:04 am »
My five year old son was diggin in the plat mine for me and being five he did not reply to anyone! Suddenly he tells me the game has crashed! It has not crashed, We have been banned for being a BOT. So using my five year old son is classed as being a BOT! Well thanks a lot!
Since starting planshift my son and I have had lots of fun and been involved with some really cool rollplay with Anfa and Haag!
Could this problem please be looked at as my son is very upset over not being allowed to play.
Our character is "Manjas"
Kind regards
K

Please take a look at the "In-Game Support and Reporting Abuse" link in my signature, for rules on how to handle such situations. Someone will contact you further through PMs, I think.

[ A general comment - I do not think it is wise to let a five-year-old play an MMO unsupervised, if this is indeed what occured. GMs expect responces from players if they have a concern, and a five-year-old has no such capabilities. We don't exactly have an age limit, but this is really more of a common sense issue. ]

Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Your child was moving back/forth and mining in a VERY methodical pattern.  It very much looked like a bot, to everyone who watched.  After multiple players were not responded to, I was called in and I attempted to use /tells, /says, and /warns.  (/warns stick the text in big red letters in the middle of the screen)  I got no response, and after a while I chose to ban.

PS is an MMO and communication is required.  I have nothing against letting a child play while supervised, as I already told you.  I already unbanned you under the condition that you get no more GM warnings and play with your child.  (as per our IRC discussion)
