What requirements for this cheap game?
« on: June 20, 2006, 11:40:15 pm »
Alright, I downloaded this just to try it. Ingame gltiches like hell and there are more sounds for the loading screne then their is int he entire frickin game. I can stay in the game for a max of 5 mins where it randomly freezes and then crashes. I have 526mb Ram and 3.00Ghz, I am runin ghr latest linux kernel. If I can run WoW on Wine emulated and have it work with no glitches then I should be able to run this program also.

Also, how about ALL of you system requirments,  how about your graphics card??  This game is in beta testing.  Nothing is perfect.

Look at the top topics, called "Important Topics" You may find a fix in there.

Next release should fix pretty much everything you're complaining about.  Until then, be patient.  This game is in alpha testing.

Full system specs:

526mb RAM
260GB HDD
3.0 GHz
nVidia 5200FX 128MB
Pentium 4 Processor

And sorry for being "pissy" just after trying to play the game 40 times and it crashes tends to get to you. So I am sorry for the way I acted and I will check up on the topic you metioned.

I did that after you said, that doesn't stop the choppyness though. I had to put the game on"keep map loaded" or w/e, or every 2 steps it would have to load something again which was quite annoying. And even after that it tend to be choppy.

Alright, thanks DaveG, that helps the choppyness. I have a question though, some areas: IE infront of the magic shop byt he mining place, the textures are certain angles are "blueish" and so are the tops of alot of trees. Is this a problem on my part, or isn't this fixed yet?

turn of the game in the PS settings...
:D This is another solution! :D ==> "turn off the game sound"

I didn't have problems with sound under Windows. Only the "battle victory" jingle made me dizzy.

About the strange textures:

Sometimes the calculation of transparency gets wrong. You should look through the transparent areas in the grass at the floor, instead you look right throught the floor at the skybox. This issue has been addressed so many times, but the world definitions could not yet be fixed, it seems that no developer really inderstood how to order different "layers" correctly for the CrystalSpace engine to display this effect reliably.

ahhh...i know how you feel...imagine playing the game perfectly for 3 days, get addicted to it. and then not be able to play it for 2 weeks because bittorent or any other downloading doesn't work for you :P
