Since no one has even brought up yet, I'll point it out.  How are you all going to RP (if any) the fact that half your known world just switched places on you?  There, that should get this train back on the topicness track.

You shouldn't RP that the world has change. The world was like that. ALWAYS. Rping that a river just popped in front of you is wrong. You mean that right now you are excluding Kadaikos from your RP just because it isn't "implemented"? Or you say that there is only one level to Yliakum? That is wrong.

One question, though...what uis the recommended procedure to check for update completion? I have been:
   1) Checking this thread
   2) Checking "Show unread posts since last visit"
   3) Checking PlaneShift main page News
   4) Checking PlaneShift Downloads page

Can I do anything else or is there ONE place I can check to be ready WHEN the update is ready?

Once an update is ready, a dev will post it on the forum or somebody else will come around and slap all of you.

Well, yes, but still is a bit uncertain the cause that moves all suddendly to start training a new skill
(it was there since always, but why you decided just now to start training it, even being the son of a famous
artisan of that crafting??)

For the river, well, probably some earth moving near the source moved the flow of an already existing river
from a distant and unexplored area...... So you never saw Kadaikos cause a rock drop blocked the road,
or you didn't found the way to the other levels so you don't know much about them.....

(At least the real world would be naturally subject to changes..... Isn't Yliakum supposed to be in that way?)

I support that actually. As a new player everything will seem normal to me (of course I'd like to see/know the changes) and it's :-( that I cant play now, so I'd like to be up-to-date when I will be!

If we're going to retcon the positioning of the cities, it'd be funny if there was one person who knew the world used to be different but nobody else believed him/her (Kind of like in that one Star Trek episode where history is changed and only Guinan knows it). We could say that everyone had their memories altered.

I'd usually go with just the "it was always there" version, but with towns jumpping around... well, call it whatever you want.

Heh, the npc's are going to be fun. Not only do they talk to you now, but some run away when you attack them. Well, more like glitchrun away, but that'll be fixed
