Windows Vista Beta 2(WITHOUT WDDM DRIVERS)

Hello there! Now my dad just installed vista two days ago and I would like to know whether if I can run this game without hitches.

You can try, but probably not.
Better use windows XP. I hope your dad has made a dual-boot setup, because Vista is only a beta and thus still a bit unstable.

Wouldn't like to though. Whenever my computer has problems I make a big deal of it.

But if you say it won't work then why with no WDDM(only avaible to windows vista-ready video cards) drivers enabled for my Geforce 6600, all my games work correctly?(well only the more recent ones nothing ancient like Mechwarriror 2)

I've tested it with Vista 2 on my laptop..
ATI Mobility X600 and the latest Vista ATI drivers...
No luck  :'(

Windows Vista is simply not supported, and probably won't be for a long time.  It doesn't have the graphics card support that's needed.

Most games don't work properly on Vista anyway. Do a google search and you'll find lots of problems, from things not working at all to big performance hits. Using a beta OS as your main is a very bad idea, which is why microsoft advises against it :P The thing is built for you to find bugs, not for general useage.

I was online on #planeshift this morning and there was a guy (don't remember his name, but it was something like TTsomething) that was running PS on Vista. The trick? Proper drivers, thanks to ATI releasing drivers for Vista...however, it is better to ask him :-) I was half asleep!

Anything's possible, but I've heard of more people giving up trying to get PS to run on it than succeding.  The main crutch seems to be getting the right drivers.  However, you still have to know that CS and PS are simply not tested for that environment and we can't garuntee anything.

The key is not having WDDM drivers on. All you have to do is install the older drivers when you have Windows Vista. I believe that WDDM is responisilbe for most of the problems.
