Well, I personally put the tail in my mouth first, and slurp the rest of the rat in.

some drop meat.. like Clackers, [large bug-looking things] they drop clacker meat, how appropriate.

but as for eating the actual creatures.. no.. except for the occasional rogue that drops a pie...

Oh come on Easton, they're much better alive. Just gotta get rid of them clacker pinchers before eating 'em, them things cut ya up.

If you are talking about your character really eating them in game, you cannot.

If you are making a funny. Well .... Eww gross!   I would cook them on a camp fire and eat them with a fork.

or:
/eat dead rat
or:
/eat Harquist alive
or:
/eat living dead with mushroom sauce

Don't forget Grendols, you can eat their rotten meat.
It is not the very best food to find, but you CAN, if you really want to.

So to eat you just do the same thing you do to drink potions ( aka: "equiping" it. )
right?

To eat/drink, you can "equip" an item or drag it onto your character "doll" in your inventory screen. Keep in mind not everything is edible.
